It offers detailed instructions, tips, and tricks for making stitchdown footwear, covering every step from design and pattern making to upper construction. Even though stitchdown is not considered a very difficult construction method, it has multiple variations that you can use to elevate your work. Did you know that Bill Crary of Crary Boot Company will be speaking at this year's Footwear Symposium? Well, he is! He brings an incredible lineage of shoemaking with him as well. Adoptive son of Bill Danner who was son of Charles Danner, the founder of Danner Shoe Manufacturing and what later became Danner Boot Factory (you all know Danner Boots), Mr. Crary set out on his own and has made quite a name for himself. Thank you for all of you who have supported the 2015 Footwear Symposium! By coming all the way to Ashland, Oregon (we had participants coming from New Zealand and Singapore!), or by liking this page or just simply spreading the word. It has been such a fun and humbling experience for us, the organizers and we'll work on doing our best to make the next one even bigger and better! Because there definitely will be a next one! Hope to see more of you on the Footwear Symposium 2016! If you're interested in attending, keep an eye on this page, as we'll be updating our progress from time to time.
