Two fireplace mantles made from 4x6 beams.

I distressed the wood, stained them, drilled holes halfway through, drove my anchor screws into the wooden pieces that were laid into the brickwork, then cut wooden dowels to sit flush with the beam and cover the screw holes.

Deck Gate

Client had issues with a fox coming up on her deck and digging through her potted plants, so she requested a gate.

I made it with thin gaps to prevent the fox from slipping through and also added a 2” wheel at the bottom of the gate to keep it from sagging over time.

Stairwell Bookcase

I was given an image of what my client wanted and did my best to replicate it!

This took about a week to complete from start to finish. I used sanded oak plywood, pocket screws, the color Espresso for the stain and a semi gloss polyurethane to seal it.

This project has been a long time coming. Last summer I was able to build a privacy fence around my parents back patio - lay out landscape rock - get the stock tank in place - and epoxy the inside of the tank blue. Unfortunately, this was towards the end of last summer so they never got to fill it up and use it.

Fast forward to this spring, they decided to get a liner for the stock tank, since the epoxy had peeled where water had froze and thawed throughout the winter (looking back we should have covered the tank to prevent this).

Once the pump and liner were in place I began filling the pool and working on building a small deck around the back and sides. I finished up by sanding all the runners (to hopefully prevent splinters) staining them the same color as the fencing while staining the risers the same as the pool and fence posts to tie it all together. Now everything is complete and ready to go for the hot summer ahead!

Quick Cosmetic Repair on a Doorway

How long does a job like this take? Pending how deteriorated the door’s frame is it could be 2-4 hour repair. I’ll bring the materials required, touch up paint, and re-caulk. Most homeowner’s brick molding is made from primed wood and will begin to peel and rot after 10 years. Replacing it with PVC brick molding is the longest lasting solution since it’s made out of a paintable plastic.

Why would I need a job like this done?
Think about buying/selling - most lenders will ask to have rotting exterior framing replaced if it compromises the home’s weatherproofing or maybe you’ve just noticed an influx of bugs making it into your home.

What all goes into your estimates? We look at the surface area to be covered, what kind of prep work needs to be done (think stump & debris removal, leveling, & compacting ground), paid help to speed up the process, and materials we will use

Can it be done any time of year? Kind of….temperatures recommended to be above freezing for the first 30 days (promoted maximum concrete strength), any level of heat is A-OK, and as long as it’s not raining day of install we’re good to go!

What kinds of things is concrete good for? Think base for your backyard shed to limit deteriorating, a place for your kids to play sports or a BBQ pad, diminishes landscaping needs & upkeep, or driveway extension!
