As we head into Labour weekend and the weather is improving it can be a great time of year to get stuck into some of those much needed maintenance jobs around the house.

This last week we had a couple celebrations in house for Jarrad Richards as he turned over the 1 year mark since coming on board with us at NZC and to top it off his apprenticeship certificate has been issued to him by our great BCITO rep Richard Geary officially giving him the title of qualified carpenter. Jarrad has been making some leaps and bounds in both his professional life and personal life in the last few months and we are all so glad to have him as a part of our family! Thank you Jarrad for all your hard work and positivity!

With the weather being a little more favourable the team have been able to make some great progress with our current new build on Jellicoe street. With the floor joists and insulation installed, flooring laid and frames under construction it wont be long before this project has its roof framing installed and be ready for closing in.

There is an old joke in the building industry that 'when you want it to rain you dig some footings!' Well this job was no exception, right from day one we have had wet days and just enough dry days in-between to progress the job along only just keeping to schedule. The guys have worked tiresomely to pull it off and now the main structure is finally out of the ground.
