BEFORE ONE THRIFTY VEST, THERE WAS VESTWOOD. 🔨
If you've followed us for a little while, you've met the family behind One Thrifty Vest.
But there's another part of our story we haven't told you yet.
Lawrence didn't just wake up one day and decide he wanted to build things.
He grew up around it.
His grandfather owned Vestwood, a local woodworking company, and some of Lawrence's earliest lessons about working with his hands, craftsmanship, and doing a job right started long before One Thrifty Vest was ever a business.
Years later, those lessons followed him.
Different name.
Different generation.
Same respect for the craft.
In 2014, One Thrifty Vest began—and what started generations ago became part of the foundation of the business you see today.
There's something pretty special about realizing that the things you're building today have roots that started long before you.
And maybe that's why putting our name on our work has always meant a little more around here.

This lean-to addition was all about taking an existing space and making it more functional, more protected, and a whole lot more useful.
From setting the structure and framing it out to roofing and enclosing the sides, this is the part of building we love—the part where an idea starts taking shape one board at a time.
Because sometimes the best home improvement isn't about changing everything.
It's about making what you already have work better for you.
And yes… we know everybody loves the finished reveal. 👀
