Greenway Partners

Greenway Partners Solving Community Challenges We named our firm Greenway Partners because we see our clients as partners in bringing their projects into reality.

Our approach is centered around deep collaboration with our clients and their community members through all project phases. After all, how can you create positive results for a community if nobody from said community has input? We partner with clients from many walks of life, and as a result, our projects are as diverse as they are. Our core belief is that projects should not be pursued unless the

y are fundamentally improving an organization, a community, the environment or the people who use them. We strive to ensure all of our projects achieve this threshold. In terms of what sort of work we do, our capabilities are wide-reaching. We primarily work with local communities to give them what they need to solve specific challenges. Our toolkit includes (but is not limited to) planning, capital structure, community engagement, architecture, engineering and construction management.

Greenway's Aldaron Laird just published a new book!

“For decades, Aldaron has walked the shores of the bay, climbed its nearby sand dunes, and kayaked its entire periphery, taking over 25,000 photos that reveal the beauty of Wigi as it might appear in some magical, glimmering dream. From those thousands of photos, Aldaron selected 119 for this book. For each photo he kept, he discarded 209 others, which means that of those 25,000 images, he used less than one percent. We might think that taking all those photos required a tremendous amount of work, but it soon becomes clear that Aldaron did not work on this book, he lived and breathed its very essence, so that every photo he did select opens like a window, showing us yet another wonderful facet of Wigi, this place of 10,000 smaller places where land and water so subtly, so strikingly meet.”

WIGI (HUMBOLDT BAY) – The first thing to know about Aldaron Laird’s new book, A Photographic Exploration of Wigi (currently called Humboldt Bay) is in the title. Wigi is the Soulatluk (Wiyot language) name for the bay presently known by its settler name. It’s pronounced Wi-GI, accent on the se...

Greenway Partner’s Aldaron Laird sharing his expertise and abundant knowledge on sea level rise in the Humboldt Bay Area.

Here on planet Earth our present climate change conditions include increased greenhouse gas concentrations. In combination with subsidence (sinking land) and other oceanic forces such as storm surges, projected mean sea level rise will affect the coastal zone. This will increase coastal vulnerabilit...

It’s so exciting to see the Sky Walk getting the attention it deserves. Greenway is forever proud of being a part of bringing this beautiful attraction to our community!

We have exciting news to share from the Sequoia Park Zoo!

The Redwood Sky Walk was named the Best Aerial Adventure Park in the country in the 2023 USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest.

The USA Today 10Best program provides readers with recommendations on top attractions, things to see and do, and restaurants throughout the country. Editors and relevant expert contributors nominate 20 places for each category and then ask their readers to vote for the top 10. This year the best aerial adventure park category featured the Redwood Sky Walk at Sequoia Park Zoo. As the top attraction, USA Today’s Travel Media Group will feature the Redwood Sky Walk on all their digital and mobile products, as well as social media platforms, reaching their established global audience of more than 66 million readers.

The Redwood Sky Walk at Sequoia Park Zoo is a self-guided interpretive experience designed to educate, inspire, and delight. Visitors to the Sequoia Park Zoo can visit the Redwood Sky Walk to learn about the rich hidden ecology of California Coastal Redwoods, the world’s tallest trees, from an entirely new perspective. As the longest sky walk in the western United States, the Redwood Sky Walk is just under ¼ mile to the end and back and reaches heights as much as 100 ft above the forest floor. The Redwood Sky Walk is ADA accessible and rises approximately 1/3 of the way up the old and second growth trees in the City of Eureka’s historic Sequoia Park. Admission to the Redwood Sky Walk is included in the price of admission to the Sequoia Park Zoo and no special reservations are required.

Since it opened in June 2021, media outlets around the globe have praised the Redwood Sky Walk for the unique and wonderous experience it provides, and the City of Eureka for its innovation.

“We are thrilled that the Redwood Sky Walk has been recognized as the Best Aerial Adventure Park this year,” Eureka City Manager Miles Slattery said. “The Sequoia Park Zoo has long held a special place in our community, and locals and visitors alike have celebrated the recent addition of The Redwood Sky Walk and all of the positive attention it has brought our community.

For more information, visit USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice 2023. This announcement follows the recent exciting news that the Sequoia Park Zoo has received two bears that will be part of the new bear and coyote exhibit and visible from the launch ramp of the sky walk, adding to the immersive experience for visitors.
