The goal of this organization can only be described as groundbreaking; Bringing together stalwarts of the black community (civic, religous, political, buisness) in order to form a strong coalition of organizations dedicated to an established set of goals including but not limited to (because the work never ends) :
1) Grassroot advocacy for the fair and effective reform of federal, state and local marijuana laws.
2) Immediate reduction of incarceration rates for non-violent, first-time marijuana offenders.
3) The establishment of training programs designed to teach and place qualified minority individuals in industry related career fields.
4) Design the blueprint for finding and mentoring individuals and entrepreneurs interested in and committed to establishing viable buisnesses within minority communities.
5) Once established, provide the support and guidance needed to navigate the complex and ever changing landscape of marijuana regulation and reform. Although not a panacea for every issue plaguing communities of color, the establishment of successful and profitable job creating entities within the borders of minority communities, is crucial to the revitalization and ultimate survival of these very communities.
