Historic Restoration. Custom Millwork. Built In-House.

Some details cannot be pulled off a shelf.

We are reproducing custom crown molding for a historic home, using traditional profiles and modern precision to preserve the character of the original architecture.

Each piece requires multiple passes through our molding machine, followed by cutting the proper spring angles on the table saw.

For this exterior application, we selected Red Grandis, a hardwood well suited for exterior millwork when properly finished and protected.

It takes more time, more planning, and a little more craftsmanship. But getting the details right is what we do.

The Stimis Standard.

Great architectural millwork changes more than the appearance of a room. It defines the space.

From natural white oak ceiling details to custom beam work and coffered ceilings, every element requires careful planning, precise ex*****on, and an uncompromising attention to detail.

Take a closer look at the white oak ceiling. Each ceiling plank was carefully laid out to maintain consistent spacing and symmetry between the beams. We even coordinated with the AV company to make sure that the ceiling speakers were in the correct position.

Even the smallest details matter. We noticed a sprinkler head was not centered on the beam, so we are coordinating with the sprinkler contractor to have it relocated before the beam is finished.

Because the details you might never notice are often the ones we refuse to overlook.

Another one moving through the shop.

Custom closet system taking shape and getting ready for delivery tomorrow morning. Cases are built, face frames are on, hardware is going in, and the remaining pieces are coming together.

A lot happens in the shop before the finished millwork ever reaches the jobsite.

A coffered ceiling taking shape today.
Built with the same approach we bring to every piece of architectural millwork: good planning, precise fabrication, and craftsmen who know how to put it together.
There is still plenty of work ahead on this one, but the structure is starting to show what the finished room will become.

One of our upcoming builds.

Custom bedroom cabinetry and a full built-in bunk wall, designed specifically for this home. The bedroom will feature a king bed surrounded by custom cabinetry, an upholstered center panel, and integrated LED lighting. The bunk wall will include two queen beds, two double bunks, built-in storage, and a center ship ladder.

It is always good to see a project move from drawings into the shop and eventually become part of the home.

At 8’ tall and 16’ long, this custom installation was designed around the space and built entirely in our shop. Integrated lighting highlights the cabinetry and creates a refined, functional backdrop for everyday use.

Dovetailed drawers provide substantial storage with the craftsmanship and durability expected from true custom work. Every cabinet, opening, proportion, and detail was built specifically for this space.

We recently had the opportunity to build the new rail for the historic pedestrian bridge in Salisbury City Park.
The contractor brought us the original design and asked us to reproduce it in true 2x4 Sapele, with a 3x6 Ipe top rail.
Sounds straightforward until you account for the fact that the bridge has an incline.
To keep the balusters plumb, each one had to be cut at 4°. Then there was the X detail in the center of each rail. That had to stay plumb as well while following the incline of the bridge.
Those are the kinds of details that don't show up in a finished photo, but they're what make the job work.
We built the complete rail assembly in our shop, where we could control the fit, angles, and details before it ever reached the jobsite. The contractor handled the painting and installation.
The bridge has been part of Salisbury City Park for generations, and we're proud to have played a small part in preserving one of the park's historic features.

A late-1800s home in Berlin, Maryland, with a woodwork package that was custom from the ground up.
We worked closely with the designer, with the millwork architect developing the detailed drawings, then brought the entire package into our shop to fabricate and install.
The fir front door and operating transom. The interior doors. Wall paneling. Cabinetry. Trim and architectural millwork throughout.
Every piece was custom built for this house and installed by our team.
This is the kind of work we are built for, taking a detailed design and turning it into finished woodwork that belongs in the house.
