Integrity isn’t what you say, it’s what you do when no one’s asking.

We recently replaced a roof for an older couple here in the NE Heights. Their only roof access was an old, unstable staircase they weren’t comfortable using.

So we added a brand-new staircase, free of charge.

Not because it was in the contract, but because it was the right thing to do.

Now they can safely access their roof and enjoy their view of the Sandias with confidence.
That’s how we do business at 1 GM Construction.

At 1 GM Construction, a roof inspection is never just a quick walk.

When we do a property walk, we’re looking for the things that quietly cause long-term damage, not just what’s obvious.

One of the biggest issues we see is ponding or puddling water on flat and low-slope roofs.

Standing water may look harmless, but over time it can:

- Accelerate membrane breakdown

- Weaken seams and flashing

- Increase leak risk around penetrations

- Add unnecessary structural stress

That’s why we take the time to inspect slope, drainage paths, and low points, and why we make sure roofs are properly sloped and corrected, not just patched.

Our goal is simple:
Do it right the first time, protect the property long-term, and give owners clear visibility into what’s happening on their roof.

At 1 GM Construction, replacing a roof isn’t just about shingles or materials, it’s about taking full responsibility for the problem we’re hired to solve.

When a roof has failed, interior leaks often come with it. That’s why we don’t stop at exterior work alone.

If we’re replacing a roof, we make sure interior leak damage is properly addressed as well, so homeowners and commercial partners aren’t left coordinating multiple trades or dealing with unfinished issues.

This is how we operate:
- We assess both exterior and interior impacts
- We document damage clearly with photos and reporting
- We communicate expectations up front
- We stand behind our work from start to finish

We take care of our customers, and we take care of our commercial partners just as seriously. Trust is built by doing what you say you’ll do, especially when it requires extra effort.

Our team at 1 GM Construction spent an afternoon with Los Ojos de la Familia, packing and delivering more than 60 boxes of food to families right here in our community.

Construction is what we do, but people are why we do it.

Giving back reminds us that strong communities are built the same way strong homes are built, with care, consistency, and showing up when it matters. We’re grateful for organizations like Los Ojos de la Familia that are on the front lines supporting families every day, and we’re proud to support their mission.

Thank you to our team and everyone involved who made this possible. This is New Mexico, and this is community.

With the government shutdown, many families here in New Mexico are worried about whether they’ll receive their SNAP food benefits next month — and no one should have to stress about putting food on the table.
