Tried & True is hosting a hands-on historic window workshop in Salem! Saturday June 27th, 9AM-4PM. Registration is required. $25 per person, 15 tickets available.

This workshop is designed for anyone that wants to know the basics of how old windows work. It is geared toward homeowners or anyone interested in preservation, no previous experience is necessary. Participants will learn how to remove and reinstall the components of a double-hung sash window, window glazing, and how to make old windows more energy efficient.

Got some windows working for an awesome client in Corvallis. Since the owners moved in these windows barely opened, if at all. Now the uppers and lowers all work. The fresh air is going to be great this summer!

My name is Vance and I'm the owner of Tried & True Historic Windows. I started working on historic windows in 2022 while attending the Clatsop Community College Historic Preservation & Restoration program in Astoria, Oregon. I was initially attracted to historic buildings due to their inherent aesthetic beauty, but soon into my studies I realized repairing and restoring historic windows was a climate friendly act, preventing buildings from becoming stuck in the perpetual landfill cycle that is caused by modern window units.

After I got my degree in Historic Preservation & Restoration from CCC, I started Astoria Wood Windows, restoring historic windows in the Astoria area. I have since moved to Albany, OR and now I'm the guy behind Tried & True Historic Windows.
