There was a time when you could walk into a thrift store and find some of the best deals around. Now, it seems like prices are through the roof. Every now and then you might come across something reasonably priced, but overall, the cost of secondhand items has skyrocketed.
After doing some revamping and rebranding, we've decided that instead of continuing with Crafted Living Marketplace, we're creating our own branded thrift community: Northeast Ohio Thrift Exchange by a Handyman and His Wife™.
We'll be creating a separate group for those who live locally and even for those in other states. This is where we'll be posting available items, vendor information, and more. We are currently looking for vendors to join us!
Vendor spaces are just $30 per month, and you'll be able to list your own items directly on the platform we've built outside of social media and that information will also be connected to our Facebook group as well. To keep things organized and beneficial for our vendors, posting privileges in the group will be reserved for paid vendors.
The best part? You don't have to be tech-savvy. We've made this platform incredibly easy to use. We've also built marketing tools right into the system to help make selling easier. Vendors can offer local pickup, delivery, and even customize their own store with graphics and branding.
Because we work with homeowners every day through our handyman business, every client we serve will receive free access to browse the group and find affordable thrifted items for themselves and their families. It will also be open to the public. In addition ... Both new and existing clients will also receive updates about new vendors joining the exchange.
You never know who may be looking for exactly what you have. Someone might fall in love with the clothing you've listed, the home décor you've collected, the furniture you're ready to part with, or even the homemade baked goods you're offering for a special event.
My goal is simple: I want this thrift exchange to be a place where prices remain reasonable. A place where secondhand doesn't mean overpriced. A place where families can save money, vendors can earn extra income, and good items can find new homes instead of ending up in a landfill.
We'll be posting more details soon! Once the group is up and running, we'll be sending out invitations. In the meantime, please feel free to invite friends, family members, small business owners, crafters, bakers, collectors, and anyone else who may be interested in becoming a vendor or supporting the community.
We're excited to see where this goes and hope you'll join us on the journey!
