Green concrete has been helping to save the environment by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emissions and by recycling demolished materials. But what is green concrete?

It is concrete that is made from recycled aggregates from demolished buildings etc.
So basically it is using old concrete, crushing it and using it to make new concrete by reusing the aggregates.

Another aspect that makes the concrete green is by replacing some of the cement with an alternative pozzolanic material.

Ever wondered why TCL bags say 30% less CO2. It's because 30% of the ordinary portland cement ( OPC ) has been replaced by another recycled material. Because cement manufacture accounts for high CO2 emissions the more of it that can be replaced without negatively affecting the cement properties the better for our environment.
By using green concrete it helps save our environment.

Our very own Mr. Rakesh Ramnath has formulated a blend of green concrete that produces concrete of very high compressive strenghts. Such high strengths have never been recorded. This journal in which he is one of the authors has been published by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
