Bir müzede yavaşlar, havalimanında hızlanır, bazı mekânlarda ise farkında olmadan durup bakarız.
Çünkü mimari yalnızca mekânın nasıl göründüğünü değil, içinde nasıl hareket ettiğimizi de şekillendirir. Koridorun genişliği, ışığın yönü, bir eşik, merdiven ya da mobilyanın konumu; nerede yavaşlayacağımızı, duracağımızı ve nereye bakacağımızı etkiler.
İyi tasarım, çoğu zaman kendini açıklamaz. Bize ne yapacağımızı söylemeden davranışımızı değiştirir.

In a museum, we slow down. In an airport, we speed up. In some spaces, we stop and look without even realizing why.
Architecture shapes not only how a space looks, but also how we move through it. The width of a corridor, the direction of light, a threshold, a staircase or the position of a piece of furniture can influence where we slow down, stop and look.
Good design often works quietly. It changes our behavior without telling us what to do.

Mimaride güçlü bir etki yaratmak, her zaman daha fazla malzeme kullanmak anlamına gelmez. Asıl mesele; seçilen malzemelerin doğru oran, detay, ışık ve hiyerarşiyle bir araya gelmesidir.
Malzeme sayısı azaldıkça, her karar daha görünür hale gelir. Bir birleşim detayı, bir derz, bir yüzey dokusu ya da ışığın malzeme üzerindeki etkisi, mekanın karakterini belirleyen önemli bir unsura dönüşür.

Bazen mimari zenginlik, daha fazlasını eklemekten değil; elimizdeki malzemenin potansiyelini daha iyi kullanmaktan geçer.

Çünkü iyi tasarım, ne kadar eklediğimiz kadar neyi eksilttiğimizle de ilgilidir.

Less material, more impact.

Creating a strong architectural impact does not always mean using more materials. What truly matters is how selected materials come together through proportion, detail, light, and hierarchy.

As the number of materials decreases, every decision becomes more visible. A junction detail, a joint, a surface texture, or the way light interacts with a material can become a defining element of the space.

Sometimes, architectural richness comes not from adding more, but from exploring the full potential of what we already have.

Because good design is defined not only by what we add, but also by what we choose to leave out.

Bu hafta bültenimizde, Fabrikaco’da bir projenin bitmiş üründen önce başlayan yolculuğuna odaklanıyoruz. Bir ihtiyacın ortaya çıkışından tasarım ve Ar-Ge çalışmalarına, malzeme seçimlerinden üretime, atölyeden şantiyeye uzanan bu sürecin farklı ekiplerin ortak çalışmasıyla nasıl şekillendiğini anlatıyoruz.
Proje-iletişim ve tasarım ekibi olarak bizim için bu hikâyenin bir parçası da işin mutfağını görünür kılmak. Çünkü sosyal medya, yalnızca tamamlanmış projeleri sergilediğimiz bir alan değil; Fabrikaco’nun düşünme, tasarlama, üretme ve emek verme biçimini aktardığımız bir tasarım vitrini.

Bu hafta bültenimizde, tasarımın yalnızca ortaya çıkacak ürünü değil, o ürünün nasıl üretileceğini de kapsayan yönüne odaklanıyoruz. Tekrarlayan imalatlarda kullanılan aparatlar üzerinden; ölçü, açı ve kaliteyi standartlaştırmanın ustalığı nasıl tekrar edilebilir hale getirdiğini, atölyede geliştirilen çözümlerin ve deneyimin nasıl geleceğe aktarıldığını ele alıyoruz. İyi üretim, yalnızca iyi bir sonuç ortaya koymak değil; daha tutarlı, kontrollü ve iyi üretmenin yöntemini de tasarlamakla başlıyor.

Şantiyede ortaya çıkan birçok problem aslında sahada değil, tasarım aşamasında başlar. Tasarımın uygulanabilirliği, disiplinler arası koordinasyon, imalat sırası ve şantiye toleransları daha tasarım aşamasındayken değerlendirilmelidir. BIM ve mock-up gibi araçlar da bu süreci destekleyerek zaman, maliyet ve iş kaybını azaltır.
Çünkü her disiplinin kendi içinde doğru olması, projenin bütünüyle doğru olduğu anlamına gelmez. Önemli olan, tüm kararların aynı yapı ve uygulama süreci içinde birlikte çalışabilmesidir.

Many site problems actually begin during the design phase, not on site. Design feasibility, interdisciplinary coordination, fabrication sequencing, and site tolerances should be evaluated before construction begins. Tools such as BIM and mock-ups can further support this process, reducing time, cost, and rework.
Because each discipline being correct on its own does not mean the project is correct as a whole. What matters is making sure all decisions can work together within the same construction and implementation process.

Masada aynı malzeme için üç teklif var. En ucuzu öne çıkıyor ama karar sadece fiyat üzerinden verilmiyor.
Çünkü gerçek maliyet; malzemenin kalitesi, termin süresi, stok durumu, işlenebilirliği ve üretimde yaratacağı fireyle birlikte ortaya çıkıyor. CNC’de sorun çıkaran, üretimi yavaşlatan ya da fireyi artıran “ucuz” malzeme, sonunda en pahalı seçenek olabilir.
Satın alma bazen en uygun fiyatı bulmak değil; doğru soruları sormak, doğru tedarikçiyi seçmek ve gerektiğinde “almayalım” diyebilmektir.

There are three quotes for the same material on the table. The cheapest one stands out, but the decision isn’t based on price alone.
Real cost is shaped by quality, lead time, stock availability, workability and production waste. A “cheap” material that causes CNC issues, slows down production or increases waste can ultimately become the most expensive option.
Purchasing isn’t always about finding the lowest price. It’s about asking the right questions, choosing the right supplier and knowing when to say, “Let’s not buy it.”

Detayda yapılan bu hassas dokunuşlar, uygulamanın genel görünümünde büyük fark yaratıyor.

A flawless surface application requires not only the right material, but also precision in every detail. Here, edges and joining points are carefully refined through controlled grinding.

Yalova’daki otel projemizde üretimden montaja uzanan süreci sahada sürdürüyoruz. Ahşap ve metal mobilyaların tasarımından üretimine, sahadaki montaj ve kurulumuna kadar tüm süreç Fabrikaco imzasıyla ilerliyor.
Atölyede başlayan üretim, projede yerini buluyor; her parça ölçüsüne, detayına ve kullanım alanına uygun şekilde monte ediliyor. Tasarımdan üretime, üretimden uygulamaya… Fabrikaco’nun projedeki yolculuğundan bir kare.

We are continuing the process from production to installation on our hotel project in Yalova. From the design and production of wooden and metal furniture to on-site assembly and installation, the entire process is carried out by Fabrikaco.
