High-profile governmental dignitaries and an excited crowd celebrated the successful launch of the 20 MW Solar PV Plant + 14 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on Saturday, 18 January 2025. Ezra Group's Chief Operations Officer, Natnael Ghebrengus Ezra, started the speeches and explained their aim to enhance access to clean, renewable energy sources while also addressing the growing energy needs of South Sudan. The enthusiastic attendees also heard from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Dams, Hon. Sultan Lam Tungwar Kueigwong; the Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria, H.E. Paulino Lukudu Obede; Eritrea's Ambassador to South Sudan, Yohannes Teklemichael and the Minister of Energy and Dams, Hon. Peter Marcello Nasir Jelenge, Vice President South Sudan - Infrastructure Cluster H.E Taban Deng G*i, was also in attendance and celebrated the momentous occasion with some inspiring remarks.
