70 years in the making. Now, officially open.

Our "70 Years of RSP: Where Design Meets Humanity" exhibition was officially launched last week as our Guest of Honour, Minister for National Development Mr Chee Hong Tat 徐芳达, together with our Chairman Kiat Lim and CEO Beh Swee Chiew, triggered the launch mechanism to open the exhibition.

The launch video also unveiled the three chapters of our 70th anniversary book, "The Stories We Build": Standards for Tomorrow, Design for Humanity and Built to Sustain. Together, they reflect the values that have shaped our work over the past seven decades, from technical rigour and human-centred design to building a more sustainable future.

Watch the video that marked the start of our 70th anniversary celebrations and the official opening of the RSP70 exhibition.

Thank you to The Business Times for featuring RSP’s three-part commemorative book, The Stories We Build, ahead of the launch of our RSP70 celebrations.

Spanning 70 years of architecture, engineering and planning, the book brings together the stories, people and ideas that have shaped RSP’s journey, from our beginnings in 1956 to the work we continue to build today.

"Most interesting are the projects that follow Singapore’s development trajectory and evolving priorities, the decision-making processes that birthed designs and the technical challenges that come with engineering and construction."

We are pleased to share that The Stories We Build is now readily available online for everyone to explore.

We’re proud to share that RSP has been shortlisted in two categories at the Commercial Interior Design Awards 2026:

Architectural Firm of the Year
Young Designer of the Year — Layal Noubani

Two nominations that celebrate both the strength of our practice and the talented people shaping its future.

For Layal, the recognition is particularly well deserved, reflecting her creativity, dedication and contribution to some of our most exciting projects across the region.

And as RSP celebrates 70 years, being shortlisted for Architectural Firm of the Year is another proud moment for our team and the work we continue to deliver across the Middle East.

Congratulations Layal, and to everyone across RSP who has contributed to this recognition.

A look back at a special evening as RSP celebrates 70 years of shaping spaces and places in Singapore and beyond.

Thank you, CNA, for joining us at our RSP70 celebration and featuring the event on Singapore Tonight. Our Guest of Honour, Mr Chee Hong Tat 徐芳达, Minister for National Development, announced during his speech that the new Board of Architects (BOA) Portal will be launched later this month.

"The portal will serve as a one-stop platform for architects to register with the Board, apply for Practising Certificates, sign up for professional examinations, and carry out other transactions with the Board of Architects. With the Portal, architects will no longer need to submit some of the forms in hardcopy by post, and they can access all relevant forms and services via the online Portal more conveniently." Shared Mr Chee Hong Tat at the Launch of The "70 Years of RSP: Where Design Meets Humanity" Exhibition.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of continuing to review policies, regulations and processes to reduce unnecessary burdens on the industry, while maintaining safety and quality standards, and the importance of working closely with industry partners towards this.

Catch some moments from the evening in the video, including highlights from the celebration and our 70-year journey.

Last Friday, we celebrated RSP's 70th anniversary with the people who make RSP what it is: our people.

Following the official launch earlier in the week, our teams came together for a special staff celebration at URA Centre, with colleagues from Squire Mech and global offices joining us in Singapore. Dressed in our brand-new RSP tees, everyone made the walk from our office to URA Centre together, bringing plenty of energy and excitement along the way.

The afternoon began with an address by our CEO, who reflected on RSP’s 70-year journey and shared his thoughts on the people who continue to shape our future. We also took the opportunity to announce the promotion of two of our Executive Directors Ar. Sonny Chionh and Ar. Suen Wee Kwok to Deputy Managing Directors, a proud moment for the wider RSP family.

"This recognition is well deserved. We have seen their drive for RSP, across both design, practice and external facing. We look forward to their continued leadership as RSP enters its next decade," shared Beh Swee Chiew, CEO, RSP in his opening address.

We wrapped up the day with a scrumptious buffet and a lively Bingo and Kahoot quiz on RSP70, organised by our APEX team. A special milestone deserves a special celebration, and we are grateful to have marked it together with the people behind RSP’s journey, past and present.

Here’s to 70 years of RSP, and to the people who will shape the next chapter.

Today, RSP’s 70th anniversary milestone is featured on the print cover of ST Life, titled "70 Years of Shaping S'pore". Thank you, The Straits Times, for shining a spotlight on seven decades of design, people and the spaces we create together.

“People often assume a firm needs one signature style to be recognisable, but I believe the opposite. ‘Designing for people’ means remembering that every building is ultimately about human experiences. Whether it’s a school, a workplace, an airport or a public park, our goal is to create spaces that make daily life better.” Shared our CEO, Beh Swee Chiew in the interview.

The feature brings together our Deputy Managing Directors, Suen Wee Kwok and Sonny Chionh, alongside Chris Tan, Director, who shares insights on Jewel Changi Airport, and Chew Chee Kai, Project Director, who reflects on ITE Headquarters & ITE College Central.

Over the past 70 years, our work has evolved with the cities and communities we serve, but our focus remains the same: creating places that contribute meaningfully to everyday life.

Here’s to 70 years of people, places and possibilities, and to the next chapter of RSP.

We are honoured to be featured in Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报 following the launch of our public exhibition to celebrate our 70th anniversary titled "70 Years of RSP: Where Design Meets Humanity". It was a privilege to have Minister for National Development, Mr. Chee Hong Tat 徐芳达, grace the event, where he announced the upcoming launch of the Board of Architects' (BOA) new one-stop digital platform. Launching later this month, this portal will significantly streamline administrative processes, giving architects more time to focus on high-value design and innovation.

As we celebrate seven decades of shaping Singapore's Built Environment, we are proud to honour our heritage while continuing to innovate for the future. To help preserve our nation's architectural history, we recently donated the original blueprints of iconic projects including Clarke Quay and the Singapore Indoor Stadium to the Singapore Architecture Collection, supported by Urban Redevelopment Authority and NLB Singapore.

At the same time, we are actively driving industry digitalisation through a new three-year partnership with Autodesk to develop custom AI solutions for the CORENET X platform.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey since 1956.

We are thrilled to share a significant milestone for RSP. Yesterday, we officially commemorated our 70th anniversary at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Centre, celebrating seven decades of design, collaboration and our enduring contribution to Singapore’s built environment.

We were honoured to have Mr Chee Hong Tat 徐芳达, Minister for National Development, join us as Guest-of-Honour for the occasion, alongside our Chairman, Kiat Lim, our staff, partners, clients and friends who have been part of RSP’s journey.

The milestone also marked the launch of “70 Years of RSP: Where Design Meets Humanity”, our commemorative exhibition at the URA Centre, and “RSP 70: The Stories We Build”, our anniversary book. Together, they trace RSP’s evolution from a homegrown practice founded in 1956 to a global multidisciplinary consultancy, through the projects, people and ideas that have shaped our story.

From Jewel Changi Airport and The Pinnacle@Duxton to Henderson Waves, Mandai's Bird Paradise and SIT Punggol Campus Court, our work has become part of the everyday experiences and memories of generations of Singaporeans.

As part of our anniversary, we are also contributing historical drawings, archival photography and restoration reports from landmark projects including Clarke Quay, Henderson Waves, the Singapore Indoor Stadium and Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery to the Singapore Architecture Collection (SAC) jointly managed by NLB Singapore (NLB), URA, and National Heritage Board (NHB). We hope these materials will help preserve and deepen our understanding of Singapore’s architectural heritage for future generations.

As we look ahead, our focus remains firmly on what has guided us for the past 70 years: designing adaptable, connected and sustainable spaces where communities can thrive for generations.

70 years of RSP. 70 years of stories we build together.
