It’s race week in Singapore! 🏁

Every year, the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix transforms the city into a buzzing street-racing spectacle, with world-class drivers racing through the Marina Bay Street Circuit under the lights. Beyond the track, the excitement spills into the city, with fans and driver appearances taking over some of Singapore’s best-known destinations.

This year, we spotted some familiar faces at RSP projects around the city!

🚶‍♀️ Kicking off RSP Singapore's Wellness Month with a corporate walk!

We are back for our second edition of RSP Sports Fest, with a month-long lineup of activities planned for our Singapore team to stay active, recharge and connect with colleagues beyond the workplace.

We kicked things off with our first activity, a corporate walk. Due to the hazy weather conditions, we shortened our route from the office to Marina Bay Sands, taking the opportunity to snap photos along the way at some of RSP’s projects in the area.

How can architecture create a stronger connection between people and nature?

RSP Senior Associate Samantha Wong shares insights into the design of Bird Paradise, Asia's largest bird park at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, where architecture, landscape and nature come together to create an immersive home for birds and a meaningful experience for visitors.

Designed as a new-generation wildlife destination, Bird Paradise features large walk-through aviaries that recreate diverse habitats and allow visitors to experience the birds in more natural settings. The design also integrates lush landscapes, water features and visitor spaces to create a seamless connection between people and nature.

Through the project, Mandai Wildlife Group, RSP and a team of consultants brought together architecture, engineering and landscape design to create spaces that support animal wellbeing while encouraging visitors to discover and appreciate the natural world.

"Bird Paradise offers a world-class, immersive experience that redefines urban zoos and animal conservation. With a strong focus on bird conservation, it creates a rich and engaging journey, particularly for families with young children. The design was carefully conceived and executed, resulting in a seamless and interactive experience where visitors can connect closely with nature. Through the observation of and engagement with birds in a way that feels natural and dynamic, visitors gain a deeper understanding of avian species and their ecosystems." - PDA jury citation.

Thank you Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报 for this thoughtful feature on how RSP has contributed to Singapore’s Built Environment over the past 70 years. From Singapore Indoor Stadium and Jewel Changi Airport to CapitaSpring and Mandai Bird Paradise, the article looks beyond the architecture design itself to the multidisciplinary expertise required to turn ambitious ideas into reality.

As our Deputy Managing Director Suen Wee Kwok puts it: “In a project involving multiple stakeholders, I see the design architect as the person who ignites the spark, while we, as the local architects, are the ones who keep the fire burning through execution.”

That ability to bring architecture, engineering, planning and other disciplines together has been central to RSP’s work since 1956, helping to deliver complex projects that respond to Singapore’s dense urban environment and the people's needs.

Architecture is about more than the buildings we create. It is about the people, ideas and stories that shape the places we live and connect in.

This World Architecture Day, we are reflecting on 70 years of RSP and the many projects, people and ideas that have shaped our practice along the way. Our exhibition, “70 Years of RSP: Where Design Meets Humanity”, brings these stories together, from our early beginnings to the work we continue to do today.

Thank you to everyone who has visited the exhibition so far. It has been meaningful to see visitors take the time to explore our journey and experience RSP through their own perspectives.

The exhibition is open at URA Centre until 31 December 2026.

Four individual mansion villas form the heart of this Wellness Centre Concept, connected through landscaped gardens, courtyards and shaded walkways.

Breaking the development into smaller buildings creates a more intimate sense of scale, while mature planting, water features and generous outdoor spaces encourage movement, reflection and connection to the landscape.

Warm limestone, natural timber and bronze detailing complement simple horizontal forms, while deep overhangs and vertical screens introduce shade, rhythm and privacy.

By creating a series of intimate experiences the architecture reinforces privacy and exclusivity.

We are pleased to share that RSP Senior Architect Zhang Siqi has been named among Singapore Business Review’s Most Notable Architecture Professionals Under 40 for 2026, joining a select group of eight architects recognised this year.

Siqi is one of five women featured on this year’s list, which highlights emerging architectural professionals shaping some of Singapore’s most recognisable spaces.

Since joining RSP in 2019, Siqi has contributed to a diverse portfolio spanning retail, hospitality and mixed-use developments. Her work includes the i12 Katong Major A&A, a S$30 million-plus revitalisation delivered throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and West Mall’s S$40 million-plus redevelopment, where she served as Project Architect, leading design development and technical coordination.

A Registered Architect with a Master’s in Architecture from NUS, Siqi continues to bring thoughtful design and technical expertise to projects across Singapore.

The Design House concept looks to the spatial principles of the traditional Hanok, translating ideas of courtyards, layered spaces and connections to landscape into a contemporary cultural destination.

Rather than designing the museum as a single monumental object, the architecture is broken into a collection of interconnected volumes arranged around landscaped courtyards. The composition creates a sequence of indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing light, landscape and movement to become part of the museum experience.

A large floating roof brings the individual elements together, creating a strong architectural identity while framing the public spaces below.

The concept reinterprets traditional Korean spatial planning for a new generation, creating a cultural destination that reflects both the country’s heritage and its continuing evolution.

Building strength upon strength.

As RSP marks 70 years of design, our journey continues to evolve, from our Singapore roots to an expanding global practice shaping projects across Asia and the Middle East.

We are pleased to be featured exclusively in The Business Times Luxe, in an article that explores RSP’s transformation following our brand refresh and the ambition driving our next phase of growth.
