Cooling systems that draw excessive reactive power strain your electrical infrastructure and inflate operating costs. For operators managing high-density artificial intelligence and high-performance computing environments, every watt matters.

The Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 1350 is designed to help address this challenge. With an improved power factor of 0.89 or higher as standard, and an optional active harmonic filtering upgrade that can reach 0.95 or higher, this coolant distribution unit can help reduce reactive power consumption compared to conventional alternatives.

That means more of your power budget goes toward compute, not cooling overhead.

The Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU 1350 is part of Vertiv's broad portfolio of liquid cooling, power, and lifecycle services, including commissioning and preventive maintenance, designed to help operators manage dense environments with precision.

Rack densities pushing 200 kilowatts (kW) demand a fundamentally different approach to heat rejection. The coolant distribution unit (CDU) architecture behind your liquid cooling system determines how heat transfers, where it gets rejected, and what supporting infrastructure is required.

Liquid-to-liquid, liquid-to-air, and liquid-to-refrigerant CDUs each handle thermal loads differently, with distinct trade-offs in scalability, installation complexity, and site compatibility.

Vertiv covers all three heat-rejection methods and CDU configurations, from in-rack to gallery scale, aligned with current site conditions.

In the same server-rack space, artificial intelligence (AI) can demand up to 50x more power. A single AI campus can approach the output of a large power station, large enough to reshape the electricity needs of entire cities. The question is no longer if we can get the power, but how.

In this interview with Jane Lo, Vertiv power expert Arunangshu Chattopadhyay explores where that power comes from, whether operators need to bring their own through batteries, solar, or on-site generation, and how infrastructure must adapt as GPU innovation accelerates.

Building critical infrastructure for modern workloads takes more than one discipline. It takes engineers, technology specialists, construction teams, and consultants working from the same technical foundation.

Yesterday, the Vertiv Masterclass Philippines brought these professionals together at Grand Hyatt Manila for a full day of sessions on resilient power from grid to chip and efficient thermal architectures for dynamic workloads. A customer voice session shared real-world lessons from concept to commissioning. Thank you to all attendees for the collaboration.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Vertiv Masterclass.

Sharing an uninterruptible power supply between IT equipment and mechanical cooling loads introduces risks most operators do not plan for. Variable frequency drive pumps can draw 1.5 times normal current at startup, generate up to 50% total harmonic distortion, and trip on a 10 to 15% voltage sag, cutting coolant flow before thermal protection responds.

The Vertiv™ Liebert® APM2 is built for these conditions. Its silicon carbide three-level topology reduces distortion below 5%, delivers 0.99 power factor, and engages battery backup with zero transfer time, keeping pumps running through outages and generator transitions.

Batteries in artificial intelligence (AI) power smoothing applications cycle far more frequently than in conventional backup roles, and as State of Health (SOH) declines, both available runtime and smoothing capacity shrink. Inaccurate SOH hides degradation until it becomes operationally visible, increasing the risk of unplanned maintenance and unexpected cabinet replacements.

Vertiv engineered integration calculates SOH using battery- and cell-model-specific algorithms, helping operators plan service actions instead of reacting to failures, extend battery service life, and reduce total cost of ownership.

AI compute demand across Asia is scaling faster than the infrastructure behind it — and the gap between capacity planning and deployment timelines is widening.

At Data Center World Asia 2026 in Singapore, Vertiv showcased power, cooling, and infrastructure solutions built for high-density AI environments. Booth visitors explored our solutions and connected directly with the Vertiv team to discuss site-specific deployment challenges.

Tony Gaunt, Vertiv's VP for Product Management Asia, also delivered a presentation on how data center operators can adapt power infrastructure to match evolving AI workloads.

At Data Center Networking Night, operators, partners, and industry leaders discussed where AI infrastructure investment is heading and what's slowing deployment.
