To imagine something that does not yet exist, has always been the most powerful human ability.

Innovation begins when people combine knowledge, experience and different perspectives in new ways. Technology can make that knowledge easier to find, share and apply. People give it purpose and turn it into something meaningful.

That is why the future of manufacturing remains profoundly human, and why Sandvik is developing technology designed to amplify human expertise.

Knowledge grows when it's shared. https://go.sandvik/2fb

The human brain can learn a language, recognize a face, design an aircraft, and forget where it put the car keys at the same time.

What matters is that it keeps learning.

Manufacturing is built on the same human capacity to learn. Every tool, machine setting, process and problem adds new knowledge. Yet much of that knowledge still sits in separate systems and minds.

Sandvik builds on collective intelligence created together with our customers and partners. This is how we make manufacturing knowledge accessible and easy to use, so more people can make informed decisions and to continue build our future.

Knowledge grows when it’s shared.

What does the future of mining look like? In Chile, it is already taking shape. As the world’s largest copper producer and a leading supplier of lithium, the country sits at the center of the energy transition. Copper powers grids, renewable energy systems and electric vehicles. Lithium helps store that energy.

At El Teniente, the world’s largest underground copper mine, 48 Sandvik trucks and loaders equipped with AutoMine® operate across six sites.

AI in manufacturing is about making knowledge easier to use, especially when the work gets more complex. Mastercam Copilot is built directly into the CAM environment, so support is available where the work happens.

It can answer questions in plain language, guide users through workflows and help execute commands in real time. For new users, it can shorten the learning curve. For experienced programmers, it can help speed up repetitive steps and keep work moving.

South America is a key growth region for Sandvik. Across Chile, Brazil, Peru and other major mining markets, demand is being driven by strong copper fundamentals, rising need for critical minerals and continued investment in energy, mobility and infrastructure.

For Sandvik, this creates an opportunity to grow alongside customers through targeted acquisitions, expanded software and service capabilities and closer long-term partnerships. As mining in the region grows and modernizes, Sandvik is strengthening its presence and its role in supporting the next generation of mineral production.

At its simplest, metrology can be described as the science of measurement. In manufacturing, it checks whether the thing you designed on a screen is the thing you actually made. But that role is changing.

Measurement data can now help manufacturers understand what is happening across the production process, while there is still time to respond. Karolina Malyska describes it as the nervous system of intelligent manufacturing: connecting what machines make with what people intended to make.

When factories can understand what is happening as it happens, quality becomes part of how manufacturing learns.

In Belo Horizonte, Brazil, a community sports initiative reached more than 800 children and teenagers in 2025. More than 60 percent came from low-income and socially vulnerable families. Trainees get access to coaching, equipment, uniforms, meals and social support, with activities ranging from volleyball and swimming to wheelchair basketball.

"For us, it’s important that the project tackles the lack of access to quality sports infrastructure and social support for underprivileged youth in urban centers,” says Cristiane Fontes, Marketing Manager for Rock Processing at Sandvik in Latin America.
