HARVESTING EDAMAME? 🫛 Edamame are simply young green soybeans, harvested while the beans are still tender. When the harvest comes all at once, I like to freeze some so we can enjoy them later in the year.

I use raised beds, barrels and large pots for composting, then grow nutrient-hungry vegetables or leafy greens directly in the material as it breaks down.

HOW I MULCH WITHOUT LOSING GROWING SPACE 🌱 My polytunnels are packed with vegetables, so covering every bed with thick layers of mulch is not practical. I needed a method that would improve the soil without getting in the way of sowing and planting.

By collecting leaves, plant material and other garden waste in mulch ridges, I can keep plenty of open soil for vegetables while gradually adding organic matter to the beds. Read more about it here!
