An air-cooled chiller uses the v***r-compression refrigeration cycle to remove heat from chilled water and reject that heat directly to the outdoor air.

The process:

Ev***rator → Screw Compressor → Air-Cooled Condenser → Expansion Valve → Ev***rator

Water-Cooled Screw Chiller – How It Works

A water-cooled screw chiller uses a refrigeration cycle to remove heat from chilled water and reject that heat through the cooling-water system.

The basic process:

① Ev***rator
Refrigerant absorbs heat from the return chilled water and ev***rates.

② Screw Compressor
The low-pressure refrigerant v***r is compressed to high pressure and high temperature.

③ Condenser
The refrigerant releases heat to the cooling water and condenses into a high-pressure liquid.

④ Expansion Valve
The refrigerant pressure and temperature are reduced before entering the ev***rator again.

⑤ Continuous Cooling Cycle
