Power Taken from the Ground ⚙️⛏️
In 2024–2025, our team had the opportunity to cooperate with one of Germany’s largest energy producers and brown coal (lignite) mining operators 🇩🇪⚡️
Our specialists were involved in the dismantling and recycling of one of the most massive and impressive engineering creations ever built — a giant bucket-wheel excavator (Bagger) used for open-pit lignite mining.
Due to preliminary agreements, we are not yet able to share photos or technical details, but we will do so very soon. For now, a short update from Germany’s energy sector 👇
Germany’s brown coal industry is undergoing a major transformation. The country has officially committed to phasing out coal-fired power generation, with a full coal exit planned no later than 2038. In regions such as the Rhineland, major producers aim to end lignite-based electricity generation as early as 2030.
In eastern mining regions like Lusatia, the transition is happening step by step, with closures scheduled throughout the coming decade. Despite this shift, brown coal still contributes a significant share of electricity, while renewable energy continues to grow. To maintain grid stability, Germany increasingly relies on electricity imports, including nuclear power from neighboring countries.
Energy is changing.
Industry is transforming.
And we are witnessing this process from the inside 🔥
