Precast concrete spacers, also known as cover blocks, are small, high-strength concrete supports used to ensure the proper positioning of steel reinforcement (rebar) within a concrete structure. Using spacers is crucial for maintaining the required distance between the rebar and the surface of the concrete, which protects the steel from corrosion and enhances the structure's overall durability and lifespan.

Types of precast concrete spacers
Precast concrete spacers come in a variety of shapes and configurations to suit different construction applications.
Block spacers
These solid, durable blocks are used for horizontal and vertical reinforcement applications, such as in foundations, slabs, and columns.
Square blocks: Offer a stable, flat base ideal for supporting rebar on ground slabs or formwork. Some multi-cover block designs, like the Classic Crete 4-in-1 from Nasir & Sons, provide several options for concrete cover thickness on a single block.
Triangle rail spacers: Offer a large surface area for supporting heavy reinforcement cages and resisting high pressure.
Circular spacers (wheels)
Designed for vertical reinforcement in columns and walls, these spacers clip onto the rebar and roll against the formwork to maintain a uniform distance.
Clip-on wheel spacers: The round shape prevents concrete from getting trapped, ensuring the concrete flows freely around the rebar and spacer.
Line spacers (bar spacers)
These are long, rectangular bar-shaped spacers that are laid on the formwork to support large areas of mesh or rebar, allowing for faster placement of reinforcements in heavy-duty applications.
