The building is angled outward, opening towards the surroundings to bring natural light and ventilation into the interior while strengthening its connection with the landscape.

Inside, double height breakout areas bring daylight deeper into the hostel, creating openness within the compact interior.

The sustainability approach combines passive design, renewable energy, and water conservation to reduce environmental impact. Increased thermal mass further helps maintain more stable interior temperatures.

The LUMS Girls’ Hostel rethinks leftover land as an opportunity for sustainable collective living: a high-density student residence shaped by the existing campus, its trees and climate.

Its three layer brick envelope, with air cavities between the layers, increases the building’s thermal mass.

Double height breakout areas bring daylight into the interior, while washed terrazzo provides a time-tested regional cladding solution.

The hostel accommodates 504 students, bringing high-density housing into the existing campus fabric.

Diving into the planning and design details of the LUMS Girls’ Hostel next.

An angular roofline brings a distinct character to the building, while its geometry opens the interior to natural light. Viewed from below, the roof becomes more than a functional element, shaping the spatial experience through form and light.

With its modern and contemporary outlook Shalimar Medical College serves as an emblem for medical education in Pakistan in the 21st century. Set amidst the urban environment of Lahore with its complexities provided a greater design challenge with its limited space. The space has been designed so as to instill a sense of being in its users and to be inspirational in its ex*****on. A keen relationship has been developed with the outside environment by providing open spaces and using natural light to illuminate the internal spaces.

A certain discipline is evident in the overall function of the building with its well placed amnesties and efficient circulation spaces. Within this seemingly rigid framework interactive spaces have been provided for the wellbeing of the 500 students.

While keeping pace with the modern times the building does not lose its integrity. Standing apart from the other built structures around it the building strives to form an identity of its own.

This Mosque, from the design portfolio of Ar. Imtiaz Ali himself, is an architectural interpretation of the Chahar-Bagh, translating its four-part geometry into the mosque and its surrounding landscape. Four walls project outward from the central mosque volume, extending into the landscape and defining a series of quadrangles around it. At the centre, a single dominant dome marks the prayer space and anchors the composition.

A spiral staircase unfolds within the main atrium of the Yusuf H. Shirazi Complex at LUMS, forming a key element of the building’s multi-nodal circulation system.

Connecting four levels from within the atrium, the staircase introduces multiple movement routes for students, helping distribute circulation and reduce congestion while creating a dynamic spatial experience.

Currently under Construction, the intervention explores how circulation can become an integral part of architectural experience rather than simply a means of movement.

The Workplace is structured around two primary columns and two service cores, establishing an open and flexible floor plate.By consolidating structure and services within these defined elements, the plan remains adaptable to evolving patterns of occupation and use.

Approximately 40 percent of the façade is expressed through glazing, allowing daylight and visual connection to enter the workplace, while the remaining surface is articulated through a crafted terrazzo finish.

From the outside, the façade is liberated from the conventional language of the fully glazed
corporate tower. From within, the plan is liberated from unnecessary structural constraints.

Located in the centre of Gulberg, Lahore, The Workplace is positioned within a rapidly evolving commercial district where increasing density and vertical development are reshaping the city’s skyline. The project forms part of this changing urban landscape, responding to Gulberg’s transition from an established commercial centre to a more vertically oriented workplace district. Within this context, the building balances the openness expected of a contemporary workplace with a strong sense of material presence.

Its façade brings together glass, terrazzo, and metal-framed panels, creating a measured relationship between transparency and solidity that allows the building to engage with its increasingly vertical surroundings.

The building is organized around a structurally open floor plate, supported by two primary structural columns, while two service cores anchor the front and rear corners of the plan. By concentrating the building's servicing and structure into these defined elements, the workspace is freed from an overly prescriptive internal arrangement.

The result is a flexible interior that can adapt to changing patterns of work, occupation, and use. The idea of freedom therefore operates at two scales.
From the outside, the façade is liberated from the conventional language of the fully glazed corporate tower.

From within, the plan is liberated from unnecessary structural constraints.
