Another Visit, took us to the Thal Desert at Date Palm Orchard. Date Palm with Lemon intercrop was the main system here. We studied desert soil practices and varieties like Shakri, Zohgool, and Khalasi with our Supervisor and Lab mates.

On the second day we moved into the Thal Desert belt and visited Mr Haris Junaid's and Farhan Sahib’s Orchard in Thal, Hyderabad. The orchard is based on Date Palm with Lemon as an intercrop to ensure early income. The key focus was on desert soil management and adaptation of Date Palm under Thal ecology. Varieties under observation included Shakri, Zohgool, and Khalasi. The field exposure with our Supervisor and team was very informative.
