A review meeting of the Watershed Management Circle was held today under the chairmanship of the Chief Conservator of Forests, Northern Forest Region-II, Abbottabad, at the office of the Conservator, Watershed Management Circle, Abbottabad. The meeting was attended by the Conservator, Watershed Management Circle, Abbottabad, and the Divisional Forest Officer, Daur Watershed Division, Abbottabad, along with other concerned officers.

The meeting focused on reviewing the overall progress of the Watershed Management Circle and included detailed deliberations on the proposed project titled “Reviving Sub-Valleys: A Mega Project on Community-Led Micro-Watershed Restoration for Flood Resilience and Livelihood Security.” The participants discussed the project’s objectives, implementation strategy, and its potential contribution towards sustainable watershed restoration, enhanced flood resilience, and improved livelihood opportunities for local communities.

Awareness Raising Session on Forest Fire Prevention & Mitigation

Today, on 24/06/2026, the CDO Daur Watershed Division conducted an awareness-raising session on forest fire prevention and mitigation with the students of Beacon House School, Kunhar Campus Abbottabad. During the session, the students were sensitized about the major causes of forest fires, their harmful impacts on forests, wildlife, environment, and local communities, as well as the preventive and control measures that can help minimize the occurrence of forest fires. brochures containing information on the causes of forest fires and recommended preventive measures were also distributed among the students to enhance their awareness and promote responsible environmental behavior.

The area shown in the picture was once severely affected by soil erosion and land degradation. Through the dedicated efforts of Daur Watershed Division Abbottabad under the Upscaling Green Pakistan Programme (UGPP), Badland Stabilization activities were successfully carried out over 25 hectares in Noshera.
