What planting trees, it’s very crucial to know and take care of the soil.

Soil life is very important for trees to develop healthily through the “Soil Food Web” where microorganisms will turn the soil’s nutrients available for the trees to grow. 🪱🐛

In return, the plant gives out carbohydrates for microorganisms to feed on. 🍰

That’s why we need to protect those little microorganisms through an organic farmer’s practice called “mulching”, as the sun’s UV can literally burn them off. 🔥🥵

“Feed the soil, and the soil will feed the plant!”

Hope this helps!

Mangoming Mango, the Guinness World Record Holder for the Heaviest Mango (up to 3.4kg/fruit) thrives in Kapalong Davao del Norte!

Hopefully with care, love, and ancestral energy from Great Lolo Pio’s house, this will bear fruit!

How exciting it is to see trees on its growth glory! 🙏

Have relocated my Lolo Pio’s relic from World War II to Lolo’s Old Ancestral Home. This kariton was used by the U.S. Navy and later on functioned by my lolo to transport copra to millers.

So interesting to see history books unfold into present realities from recognizing one’s own history!

Have never thought those “makalipong” Araling Panlipunan books feeling distant and obscure before were the same realities my great grandfather lived from 1898 to 1999.

How deeply aliving history is! 😍

Successful Native Tree Experiment! 💙

Mountain Agoho ( 𝘎𝘺𝘮𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢 𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘮 ) is a Philippine Native Tree known to grow wild in highland areas (e.g. Bukidnon) but so rare to see them growing naturally in the lowland.

Albeit 2 years of very slow growth in our frontyard nursery, we’ve outplanted this as Large Planting Material (LPM) sometime in 2024 and now it has grown to 3 meters with a beautiful-looking crown!

Mt. Agoho really has potential for urban landscaping and maybe, in the near future as native trees become mainstream for urban landscaping, we can see Mt. Agoho in its leafy glory towering in our cities! 😍

𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵!

Struggling with uncertainty these past few years, I’ve always thought that living life with a negative outlook was inevitable—from worrying about the climate emergency to my own future with clueless dreams and unclear career path.

But that struggle was the start of a quest for my own meaning—my ikigai. I said to myself that if I can’t change everything in this world, ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑤𝑒 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤𝑒 𝐶𝐴𝑁?

And today, although dealing with uncertainty is still a struggle, I’ve developed coping mechanisms such as planting trees in our farm and experiencing side quests (e.g. hiking Mt. Pulag, studying at Yonsei) that I know are in my control.

With that perspective, I now planted atleast 200+ Philippine Native Trees and am now determined what to do with my life—to help farmers achieve better income security through sustainable farming techniques balancing the People, Profit, and the Planet.

So to those youth with eco-anxiety, environmental guilt, and still clueless about their own dreams and hopes in life, how about we focus more on what we CAN control and not what we cannot control? 💚

That way, it’s better for our mental health with hopefully less stress and a better positive outlook in life. 🙂‍↕️
