Today, as we celebrate the 56th Anniversary of FL Ramos Construction Co., Inc., we honor the legacy of excellence, integrity, and hard work established by our founder, Engr. Francisco L. Ramos, in 1970.

As I continue the responsibility entrusted to me as President, we are proud to introduce our new corporate flyer and officially launch our expanded service division:

This marks an exciting new chapter for FL Ramos Construction—bringing together decades of construction expertise with my background in interior design and our family’s passion for creating spaces that are both functional and meaningful.

The Heart Behind the Enterprise.

Every successful founder has a partner who quietly transforms vision into reality. For Engr. Francisco Ramos, that partner was Aurora S. Ramos.

Born and raised in Lucban, Quezon, Aurora possessed a natural grace and beauty that earned her recognition in local and collegiate beauty competitions, including during her years at Philippine Women’s University. Yet despite these accolades, she remained remarkably simple and grounded throughout her life.

A graduate of Philippine Women’s University with a degree in Social Work, Aurora began her professional journey serving others through Caritas Manila. It was during this period that she met Francisco Ramos, beginning a partnership that would eventually become both a marriage and a lifelong business collaboration.

Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, Aurora once considered a religious vocation and seriously contemplated becoming a nun during her college years. Although her path ultimately led elsewhere, the values of faith, humility, service, and stewardship remained central throughout her life. Her guiding verse was: “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.” This belief became one of the spiritual foundations of both the family and the business.

While Francisco led construction operations, Aurora quietly built the systems and culture that supported the company’s growth. She prepared bid documents, managed finances, typed correspondence, monitored administrative requirements, and accompanied her husband through countless business opportunities and challenges. Her attention to detail and financial discipline helped provide stability during periods of growth and uncertainty.

Despite the company’s success, she never embraced extravagance. She preferred simplicity over status, rarely purchased branded clothing or luxury accessories, and often did her own nails and makeup. Her practical approach to life reflected her belief that resources should be managed wisely and that true value comes from character rather than appearance.

Employees remember her kindness, fairness, and genuine concern for their welfare. Family members remember her unwavering faith, quiet strength, and ability to make everyone feel cared for. She taught by example that leadership is not always visible; often it is expressed through sacrifice, consistency, and service.

Today, her influence remains deeply woven into the culture of the Ramos family and the organizations she helped build. Her life stands as a reminder that enduring legacies are often shaped not only by visionaries, but also by those whose faith, humility, and compassion sustain them.

The Hands-On Builder Behind Five Decades of Construction: ENGR. FRANCISCO L. RAMOS

Engr. Francisco L. Ramos was also a valued member and supporter of the Architectural Center Club, Inc. (ACCI), an organization dedicated to advancing the architectural and construction professions in the Philippines. His involvement reflected his belief in collaboration among industry professionals and his commitment to promoting excellence in the built environment.

Throughout his life, Engr. Ramos exemplified responsibility, leadership, and service. As the eldest of nine children, he learned early the importance of sacrifice and caring for others. Following the passing of his father, he helped guide and support his family, ensuring that his younger siblings had opportunities to pursue their education and build better futures.

His educational journey was marked by determination and resilience. After beginning his studies at the University of the Philippines Diliman, financial challenges required him to balance work and academics. He later completed his Civil Engineering degree at Mapúa Institute of Technology, carrying with him the values of discipline, humility, perseverance, and hard work that would define his career.

In 1970, he founded FL Ramos Construction Co., Inc., transforming a modest enterprise into a respected construction company that contributed to the development of educational institutions, government facilities, industrial plants, transportation infrastructure, commercial buildings, hospitality projects, and residential communities across the country.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Engr. Ramos was known for his dedication to family and education. He believed that learning was one of the greatest investments a person could make and consistently encouraged younger generations to pursue excellence. His guidance emphasized integrity, quality workmanship, and the importance of protecting one’s reputation through honest and responsible conduct.

He remained actively involved in professional organizations, including the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA), the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), and Architectural Center Club, Inc. (ACCI). He also participated in civic and faith-based groups such as Rotary, Opus Dei, and the Christian Family Movement (CFM), demonstrating his commitment to community service and lifelong learning.

Known for his hands-on leadership style, Engr. Ramos stayed closely involved in project planning, bidding, and operations throughout his career. His attention to detail and dedication to excellence earned the respect of colleagues, clients, and industry peers alike.

Until his passing in July 2025 at the age of 89, Engr. Francisco L. Ramos remained a source of wisdom, guidance, and inspiration. His legacy continues through the company he founded, the people he mentored, and the values of integrity, service, and excellence that he championed throughout his life.

For years, I carried the responsibility of preserving what my father built. Today, I finally understand that honoring a legacy does not mean standing still.

As I enter my third year as President of FL Ramos Construction Co., Inc., I am embracing a direction that reflects both our history and my own professional journey.

From my roots as a UP Diliman Interior Design graduate, to years in design-build and commercial interiors, FL Ramos now begins its next chapter with a stronger focus on Interior Construction, Commercial Fit-Outs, Design-Build, and Project Management.

The foundation remains the same: integrity, excellence, and relationships built over decades.

The vision is simply evolving.
