Project: ONE-STOREY MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING
Location: ILIGAN CITY, PHILIPPINES
Architect: Ar. Ian S. Rubio, UAP

This project is envisioned as a flexible, community-centered multi-purpose facility designed to accommodate a variety of functions—from gatherings, meetings, and small events to informal social interactions. The goal was to create a space that is both functional and inviting, responding to the tropical climate while maintaining a clean, modern architectural identity. The building prioritizes accessibility, natural ventilation, and seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity, ensuring comfort and usability throughout the day.

A Modern Tropical Contemporary design that blends clean, minimalist forms with climate-responsive features. The building uses deep overhangs, vertical fins, and perforated screens to control sunlight, enhance ventilation, and create a light, breathable façade. Warm materials and integrated landscaping soften the structure, resulting in a functional and inviting space suited for community use.

"The Horizon Fold"

This residence was designed to navigate the challenges of a compact urban lot while maintaining a sense of openness. The architectural language is defined by a bold, cantilevered roofline and a rhythmic timber brise-soleil that filters the tropical sun, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow throughout the day.
