Football belongs to the people, and it should not be for sale.

We condemn the current FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, and his attempts to privatize the World Cup by selling a significant portion of the operating entity, FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), to private investors.

Despite the eventual withdrawal of this proposal amid condemnation from reputable organizations and figures in the game, the opposition to rising privatization and commercialization of the World Cup and other FIFA tournaments must be clear and continuous.

This is only the start of many more attempts to push this agenda, and might affect the tournaments' commercial and event operations in the near future once it comes through.

In line with this, we also condemn the Philippine Football Federation's (PFF) support for Infantino and his plans to privatize the FFE.

While we recognize and support the need for better financial and technical support to fund the PFF's programs, it should NEVER come at the cost of selling a portion of the world's biggest football tournaments to private investors.

Furthermore, we urge the PFF to intensify its efforts on strengthening our national teams, promoting football at all levels, and seeking more beneficial partnerships with entities that want to support the beautiful game in our country.

Football is not for sale, and it should remain that way. ☠️⚫⚪
