"Adding a Modern touch to an Existing Industrial Skeletal Structure "
This renovation project is a real challenge as a Modernist, as it has an existing bare structure that has plain industrial materials and plain structural elements. The main goal is to add a Minimal amount of new architectural elemements, still exposing the existing skeletal steel structures to cut the cost of construction, but at the same time, making it look architecturally pleasing.
It is like "Wrapping a Gift with just a Ribbon". Not entirely wrapping the material gift with a gift wrap, but just tying a beautiful ribbon around it, exposing the gift inside, but still enhancing the aesthetics on how the ribbon was tied in a sophisticated way.
The Industrial Skeletal structure is still exposed as it is. Then we added the "White Ribbon Like" element wrapping just a portion of the existing industrial Structure. This created a harmony between the two elements of the existing structure and the new modern element that was added like a "Beautiful Architectural Ribbon".
This is a Conceptual Design for the Proposed Commercial Building (Pesons Plaza) located at Looc Mandaue City Cebu.
