We’re big fans of a raised sink. There’s something about them that instantly makes a bathroom feel more considered.

It gives the vanity another layer, adds shape and dimension, and lets the sink become a feature rather than simply blending into the benchtop.

And with so many beautiful shapes, colours and finishes available, why should the sink be boring?

A bathroom is a room designed around water, so where that water ends up matters.

A well-planned shower keeps splashes where they belong. Falls guide water towards the drain. Good ventilation deals with what ends up in the air. And the right materials cope with the inevitable wet towels and dripping feet.

None of it is particularly exciting to photograph. All of it makes a bathroom better to live with.
