WOODEN SPOON 🫣
Our Wooden spoon for the Season Opener goes to our much-loved clubbie and local, Mike Craig, following an unfortunate incident en route to shore. Despite a harrowing afternoon, Mike was a great sport in accepting the spoon 😃
On a more serious note, a massive THANK YOU to everyone who came to Mike, Sharyn and their crew’s aid and helped get everyone safely to shore, thankfully without injury. We are incredibly grateful for the quick response and assistance from both the public and everyone involved. ❤️
While we might speak in jest about the wooden spoon, incidents like these are a sobering reminder that the ocean is an unpredictable beast and can test even the most experienced anglers. As a club, we are simply thankful and relieved that our friends are all safe and well.
This experience has further strengthened our team’s commitment to developing a rescue and emergency contingency resource accessible to our wider community for times when it’s needed most. We’re workin on it!

In the meantime, Mike, Sharyn and their crew can enjoy a well-deserved beverage and meal, thanks to our awesome friends at Jarks Cityside, who proudly sponsor our wooden spoon award. 🍻🍽️
