Boiling water can be a simple way to tackle unwanted w**ds growing through cracks in patios, paving, and driveways. The intense heat damages the plant’s cells and tissues almost immediately, causing the leaves and stems to wilt and die back. Once the w**d has weakened and dried out, it can become much easier to pull or remove from the surrounding surface. It works best on young w**ds and may require repeat treatments for established plants with deep roots, while care should be taken to avoid nearby plants you want to keep, as boiling water can damage them too.
