When starting a project, whether it's a new build or a renovation, both lighting and electrical accessories should be considered alongside the architecture.
Lighting should complement and emphasise, not compete. Allowing the architecture and the materials to be the focal point.
Lighting can reveal texture, add depth and bring warmth when carefully placed.
Electrical accessories should have the same consideration. Switches, power points and electrical equipment should be as discreet as possible, whilst remaining practical and easy to use. The position of accessories matters just as much as the finish, and the finish should complement the materials in the home.
Planning the details early means that we can coordinate with the architect, builder, interior designer, and client. There is time to integrate lighting, position outlets around joinery and furniture, and make provisions for concealed cabling and equipment before walls are closed in.
Much of this work goes unnoticed in a finished space, but it helps preserve the architecture and creates a comfortable home to live in.
