At Laser Plumbing & Electrical giving back to the communities we serve has been a big part of our culture for 25 years! It's something we are very proud of and our Laser Taskforce initiative is a great example of this.

In 2024 we sent a crew of 120 electricians, plumbers and volunteer labourers to upgrade the LifeFlight and Westpac Rescue Helicopter base in Wellington. In 2025 the Laser Taskforce will be in Christchurch as part of our annual Laser Conference 21-23 August 2025 and we want to GIVE BACK to a deserving Christchurch charity.

We're on the hunt for a project (or to-do list) for a deserving registered charity or not-for-profit organisation in the greater Christchurch area. We're known for our "totally dependable" plumbing and electrical services but we can also help out with general painting, gardening or even property maintenance. The Laser Taskforce of tradies will be sent to the lucky recipient(s) to complete the project to our high standards on 21 Aug 2025.

In August 2025 Laser’s TaskForce of plumbers, electricians and general labourers from across the country will be in Christchurch! We're on the lookout for a deserving charity project to lend a hand to.

📢 Important Update for Landlords, Builders, and Developers! 📢
New standards now require that all new builds, substantially renovated properties, and rental properties have an interconnected smoke alarm system by November 2024. 🔧🏠
The key requirements are:
🔸 Smoke alarms must be either 240v mains-powered hard-wired or battery-operated wireless interconnected systems.
🔸 They must meet compliance standards (e.g., BS EN 14604, AS3786, UL 217, CAN/ULC S531, or ISO 12239).
🔸 All alarms must be photoelectric.
🔸 Smoke alarms should be placed in ALL bedrooms, living areas, hallways, and landings.
For more details, refer to Standards New Zealand – NZS 4514:2021. 🚨
