A morning well spent in the glasshouse 🌱🌸

Yesterday’s jobs included sowing the first of my seeds for the season — with a mix of seeds brought in from America, some of my own saved dahlia seeds and plenty of other cut flower varieties.

But today’s main mission was ZINNIAS! 🌈🌱

They’re now tucked up in my sunniest glasshouse, hopefully getting ready to germinate and kick-start the beginning of another flower season. 🥹 I am going to be succession sowing these so I can have zinnias well into autumn next year 🍂

Then it was time to start bagging up some dahlia tubers with soil, ready to wake them up for CUTTINGS! 🌱🌸

And yes… the bags are officially my space-saving method at this point 😂 When you have a ridiculous number of dahlias, you have to get creative and this method truly rocks 🌸🔥

The glasshouse is slowly starting to fill up again and honestly… seeing those first trays of seeds sitting there gets me SO excited.

Flower season, we are coming for you 🌸🔥

120 orders packed + loaded today 📦🔥

161 left to pack on Monday and then… WE SHOULD BE DONE!!! 😭🙌
(Well… not counting whatever orders you lot sneak through this weekend 😂)

We started this packing marathon with 851 ORDERS from our pre-sale + main sale.

Honestly, when I stop and actually think about that number, I could cry. 🥹

There are so many places you could choose to spend your money, and the fact that 851 orders came through my little flower farm absolutely blows my mind.

I am incredibly humbled, incredibly overwhelmed and SO bloody grateful that you choose to buy your dahlia tubers from me. 💖

And can we just appreciate that I finally get to say “WE packed 120 orders today” 😂🔥

Because this speed-packing operation would absolutely NOT be happening without my amazing sister-in-law, who has jumped in and helped me smash through these orders. She’s the real MVP currently 👏🏻

Turns out Buds and Blooms has a packing department now. 😂📦

Monday… LET’S FINISH THIS THING. 🔥🌸

1. Dahlias are addictive.
You start with a few. Then you want every colour, every shape, every variety… suddenly you’re emotionally attached to a tuber you found in a crate. 😂
There is no “I have enough dahlias.”

2. Taking cuttings is basically MAGIC. ✨
This one plant? You can take a cutting from it and grow another whole plant.
Same genetics. Brand new plant tissue. 🌱
And because that cutting is taken from actively growing, healthy tissue, you’re essentially cloning your favourite plant and getting another little powerhouse ready to grow.
ONE PLANT → MORE PLANTS.
Honestly… it’s dangerously exciting.

3. Growing dahlias from seed is like opening a mystery box. 🎁
You plant one seed and have absolutely NO idea what you’re going to get. 😂
The babies can look completely different from the parent — different colours, shapes, sizes and forms.
And that’s exactly what makes growing from seed so much fun!
Don’t even get me STARTED on breeding and hand pollination 🔥🔥🔥

4. The more you grow, the more you want to grow.
See a variety you love? You want more.
Find a plant that performs ridiculously well? MORE.
Take cuttings? MORE.
Save tubers? MORE.
It’s a viciously beautiful cycle. 😂

5. And then the season ends… and somehow you have MORE dahlias than you started with. 🤯
You plant one tuber → it grows into a plant → that plant produces a whole clump of tubers → you divide it → and suddenly you have multiple plants for next season.

Basically, dahlias are the gift that keeps giving.

And apparently I have absolutely no self-control. 🌸😂

I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the fact that every order represents someone choosing to support my little business 💛

Behind every order is a person who found my flowers, trusted me, and decided, “This is where I’ll spend my money.”

That means more than you probably realise.

So before tomorrow’s 9am sale, I just want to say thank you. 🥹

Whether you’ve bought a tuber, shared my posts, told a friend, left a kind comment, or simply followed along — I appreciate every single one of you ✨

You’re not just a sale or an order. You’re part of the reason I get to keep growing this crazy little dream. 🌸

Today I received a message that stopped me in my tracks 🤍

“Kinda random but can I just say that you are what I want to be when I grow up. You and your flowers are so beautiful.”

I honestly don’t think she realised just how much those words would mean to me 🥺

Because behind the flowers, the business, the pretty photos and the little farm… there have been plenty of moments where I’ve wondered if I was doing enough. If I was dreaming too big. If this little idea I had could really become something ✨

So to hear that I might be inspiring a young girl to dream about what her own future could look like?

That means more than I can put into words 🥹🌸

And if there’s one thing I hope my girls — and every young girl watching along — take from following my journey, it’s this:

Dream big. Really, really big.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You don’t need to know exactly how you’ll get there.
You don’t need anyone else’s permission.

Start with the little idea that makes your heart happy.
Work hard. Be brave. Keep going when it gets hard.

Because sometimes the dream that feels completely unrealistic today becomes the life you’re living tomorrow.

And Mia, if you’re reading this…
I hope you grow up knowing that you can be absolutely anything you want to be. 🌷

Dream big, darling.

There are… a lot. 😂 So if you’ve placed an order, please know your beautiful little tubers are coming — it may just take me a little while to get through the mountain of boxes! 🫶🏼

I’m packing as fast as my two hands will physically allow, and every order will make its way to you. 🤎

A little reminder that all the pre-sale information, including shipping timeframes, is on the website if you’d like to have a peek while you wait. 👀

🌸 THE MAIN DAHLIA TUBER SALE IS COMING! 🌸

Sunday 30th August at 9am ⏰

I’m starting the HUGE job of packing all of your pre-sale orders next week, which means… it’s officially time for the main sale! 🎉

A few important things to know before you shop:

✨ Some varieties won’t be available in the main sale. I’ll be removing these from the website a few days before the sale goes live, so what you see on Sunday is what’s available.

✨ I can’t reserve or save tubers for anyone sorry! I want to keep it as fair as possible for everyone, so tubers are available on a first-come, first-served basis once the sale goes live.

✨ I’ll be reserving some stock for the Wonder Spring Markets on 12th September, so if a variety sells out online, there may still be some available at the market. If there are tubers available after the market then they will be available online.

But once that reserved market stock is gone… that’s it for the season! 🌸

So set those alarms for 9am Sunday 30th August because this is your chance to get your hands on the remaining 2026 dahlia tubers from me 💛🥔🌸
