🏉💙 Meet our latest Steamer for a Day winner, Isaac! 💙🏉
On Saturday, we had the privilege of welcoming 8-year-old Isaac from Mount Maunganui as our Steamer for a Day winner, thanks to our partnership with the Bay of Plenty Rugby Steamers and The Breeze Tauranga 95.8FM.
Isaac was nominated by his mum, Sophie:
"Isaac would love this so much! He loves rugby and is such a big supporter of the Bay. He has had to give up playing because of his disability but continues to support his teammates as an assistant coach!"
Isaac has a rare form of dwarfism called SEDC, which causes pain in his spine, arms and legs. While he can no longer play tackle rugby, his passion for the game hasn't faded. Instead, he now helps coach his Year 3 rugby team and continues to be one of the Bay's biggest fans.
After his Steamer for a Day experience, Sophie shared:
"Being part of the day showed him so many other parts of rugby he can be part of in the future such as commentating, organising and more."
From meeting players and collecting autographs to experiencing game day behind the scenes, it was a special day for a very deserving young man.
Thanks for inspiring us, Isaac. Your love for rugby, determination and positive attitude are what the Steamers whānau is all about. 👏💙💛
