A great day on the water a few weeks ago with a couple of quality catches!

📸 Photo 1: Some nice, fat trumpeter about at the moment—great to see them in good condition.

📸 Photo 2: Plenty of Hoki around off the edge of the shelf. We don't get these too often.

On Thursday night we had a special visitor in the Harbour. The University of Otago - RV Polaris II, a 23-meter wooden-hulled research vessel, which is regularly based in Portobello.
It was up surveying the new coastal fishing reserve just up past the waitaki river. ⚓️
