We are delighted to have Outlook House named as a winner in the Te Kāhui Whaihanga Western Architecture Awards for housing!

“An overlooked site allowed a rare infill house with space and prospect. Space is borrowed from the exterior surrounds. The house is precise and resolved. Detailing and material selection are restrained, economical and consistent with the whole. An excellent example of what can be achieved with clarity of thought and limited means.”

We are thrilled to have been recognised as a winner in the Commercial Architecture Category alongside a Resene Colour Award at the Te Kāhui Whaihanga Western Architecture Awards!

“An intelligent reworking of a once closed building creates a more open, people-focused environment for a philanthropic organisation. A central atrium is carved into the deep plan, bringing in light, improving orientation, and enabling a flexible layout. The lower floor is simple and materially raw, with colour and elements that support work and gathering. Sunscreening and fascia express the presence of mana whenua and reflect kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga. Bespoke bronze door handles and detailed pegboard screens highlight the collaborative design process.”
