Ever thought about installing your own central vacuum system?

If you're building a new home and you're reasonably handy with DIY, this might be worth considering!

At European Central Vacuum Systems, we can supply a complete DIY central vacuum package for $2,450, including:

Ducting for five inlet points
TUBĂ’ Classic TC3 power unit
Professional Cleaning Kit
7-metre flexible vacuum hose

And you don't have to work everything out yourself. Send Tony your house plans, and he can advise on suitable inlet locations based on the footprint of your home.

There are a few important things to know before getting started, including when the ducting needs to be installed and which electrical work needs a licensed professional.

We've covered the process, what's included and what to consider in our latest blog.

Planning a renovation?

The new kitchen, bathroom or extra living space might already be on the list. But what about some of the practical things that could make your home easier to live in once the renovation is finished?

A central vacuum system might be worth considering while you're planning the work.

Depending on the footprint of your home, a retractable hose system could be a surprisingly simple option. And as a guide, a mid-range central vacuum system with a retractable hose could cost from $5,169.25 including GST, fully installed and ready to go.*

We've covered what to consider, when to start the conversation and why a renovation can be a good time to investigate your options in our latest blog.

What does it really mean to future-proof a new home?

Sometimes it’s less about adding expensive extras and more about making smart provision for things that would be much harder to install once the house is finished.

Central vacuum ducting is one example.

For builders and property developers, the ducting and inlet points can be installed during construction without installing the complete central vacuum system.

The future homeowner then gets to decide. They might add the system straight away, five years down the track, or never at all.

Our latest blog looks at what central vacuum ducting costs in the context of a complete build, when it should be installed, and why it’s worth considering for standard and mid-range spec homes as well as high-end builds.

Building a new home? Here's something you may not have thought about while the walls are
still open.

You don't have to install a complete central vacuum system now to keep the option open for later.

Installing the ducting during construction means the pipework and inlet points can be incorporated into your home now, and the power unit can be added when, or if, you're ready.

It's a bit like the other future-proofing decisions we routinely make when building. You may not need everything today, but putting the infrastructure in place now can make life considerably easier later.

We've taken a closer look at central vacuum ducting, what it costs and why it' worth considering during a new build in our latest blog.

Why are we dropping the word “Systems” and replacing it with “Solutions”?

Partly because, with our European suppliers and their products, we want to differentiate ourselves
from those other central vacuum suppliers in New Zealand by using the words “European” and
“Solutions”. We think “European” because we are the only supplier selling “European” products,
and that “Solutions” best describes our approach to the way we do business.
