Remarkable views. Remarkable team. Remarkable progress!

It’s certainly been all go at Southland Painting & Decorating, with our teams keeping incredibly busy across Southland and Otago!

Here’s a little look at one of our current projects in beautiful Queenstown, where our crew is making fantastic progress on a 100-unit painting project.

13 units down, 87 to go!

With plenty of exciting projects underway, it’s great to see our teams continuing to deliver quality workmanship, using trusted Wattyl products and taking pride in everything they do.

Projects like these are a real team effort, and we’re incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication and commitment our crew brings to the job every day.

And with views like these, it’s not a bad place to turn up to work!

13 down. 87 to go. Let’s keep it rolling!

You never know what you’ll find behind old wallpaper…

This week we started preparing a room for fresh wallpaper and uncovered a little surprise…

“Craig 2009.”

If you’re out there, Craig… we found your signature! 😄

We also discovered the walls hadn’t been sized before the wallpaper was installed, which made removing it a much bigger job than it needed to be.

It was a great reminder that the work you don’t see is often just as important as the finished result.

Before new wallpaper could be installed, the walls were skimmed and carefully prepared to create a smooth, even surface ready for their new look.

A quality finish doesn’t start with the wallpaper…

It starts with the preparation underneath.

Swipe through the photos to see the transformation from stripped walls to a surface ready for wallpaper.

We’ll be sure to share the finished result once it’s complete.

Have you ever uncovered something unexpected while renovating your home? We’d love to hear your stories.

🖤 Black soffits… one of the most underrated features on a modern home.

When people think about a new build, they usually notice the cladding, the stonework or the front door.

But one detail that can completely change the look of a home?

Black soffits.

They create crisp, clean lines, add depth to the roofline and give the entire exterior a modern, architectural finish. It’s a subtle feature, but one that makes a big impact.

We recently had the pleasure of completing the painting package on this stunning Latitude Homes build, and we think the finished result speaks for itself.

A big thank you to the Latitude Homes team for having us involved.

Now we’d love to hear your thoughts…

👇 Would you choose black soffits or stick with traditional white?

New chapter loading…

Four years ago, SPD began with a small setup and a big vision.

What has followed has been years of hard work, sacrifice, determination, and a team committed to building something bigger. Over the past two years, Southland Community House has been an important part of that journey, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve had there along the way.

Now, we’re ready for the next chapter.

This is more than a move.
It’s a marker of growth.
Of resilience.
Of a team that keeps showing up, keeps pushing forward, and keeps building.

It reflects how far SPD has come, what has been built through grit and determination, and the momentum behind where we’re headed next.

We’re proud of the journey.
Proud of the team behind it.
And we’re only just getting started.
