🔥 Oven Not Heating Properly? Let's Get It Sorted! ⚡

There's nothing worse than an oven that won't heat up properly, especially when you're trying to get dinner on the table! 🍽️

We recently visited a customer whose oven wasn't cooking as it should. After tracking down the problem to a faulty heating element, we ordered a replacement and swapped it over to get the oven back in working order.

Sometimes it's not the whole appliance that needs replacing. Finding the faulty component and replacing it can be all that's needed to get things cooking again! 👨‍🍳

If your oven isn't heating properly or isn't performing like it used to, get in touch with Volt City Electrical to discuss your options.

🔥 From Tired to Fresh: Oven Upgrade in Huntly

This Huntly kitchen was ready for an oven upgrade, so we swapped out the existing oven for a brand-new replacement.

As part of the installation, we also ran a new cable from the switchboard to the isolation switch and then through to the oven, giving the new appliance a dedicated supply.

A fresh oven, a tidy installation, and a kitchen ready for plenty more cooking! 👨‍🍳⚡

Sometimes replacing an appliance is about more than simply plugging in the new one. Making sure the electrical supply is suitable is an important part of getting the job done properly.

If you're replacing an oven or other high-power appliance, give Volt City Electrical a call to see what is involved.

🌿 Brighten up the outdoor entertaining! 💡

This new covered deck in Cambridge was looking for a little more light, so we installed a new 1500mm IP-rated LED batten.

The IP-rated fitting is a practical choice for a covered outdoor area, providing protection from the conditions while delivering plenty of bright, even light across the deck.

Now there's enough light for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the space well into the evening. 💡🍻

Another happy customer with a brighter outdoor entertaining area. ⚡

📶 Moved house and your internet isn't working? We can help with that too! ⚡

A recent customer had just moved into their new home and discovered their internet wasn't working. The previous occupants had taken the power pack for the fibre ONT with them, leaving the customer with no way to power it up and connect their modem.

We got everything sorted from there:

🔌 Picked up a replacement ONT power pack from Tuatahi First Fibre
🌐 Connected the ONT to the modem with a new Cat6 Ethernet lead
⚙️ Reconfigured the modem to use the fibre Ethernet connection
📶 Set up and renamed the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi networks
🔐 Changed the WiFi passwords to something personal for the family
☎️ Got the home landline working correctly too

It's not your typical electrical job, but getting your home connected and your technology working properly is becoming just as important as the power itself.

At Volt City Electrical, we can also help with home office, data and WiFi installations and troubleshooting.

If you've moved into a new home and your internet setup isn't quite behaving, give us a call. ⚡

⚡ Out with the old, in with induction! 🍳

We recently helped a customer upgrade from a faulty freestanding oven to a brand-new induction model, giving their kitchen a fresh new look and modern cooking performance.
To safely supply the new appliance, we:
⚡ Ran a new 10mm² dedicated power circuit
⚡ Installed a new RCBO in the switchboard for individual circuit protection
⚡ Connected and tested the new oven, ensuring everything was operating safely and compliantly

Induction cooking has become a popular choice for many homeowners thanks to its fast heat-up times, precise temperature control, and easy-to-clean cooktop.

Behind every great appliance installation is safe electrical work that you can't see, making sure it performs reliably for years to come.

⚡ Bringing an older garage setup into the modern day 🔧

This garage had an older style metal sub board that was ready for an upgrade.

We replaced it with a modern enclosure featuring:
⚡ A dedicated isolation switch for easier maintenance and safety
⚡ Individual RCBO protection for both the lighting and power circuits
⚡ New conduit to protect and tidy up the wiring to the light switch and outgoing circuits

The original wiring was run as exposed TPS, so enclosing it in conduit has given the installation a much cleaner finish while adding extra protection.

Small upgrades like this can make a big difference to the safety, reliability, and appearance of your electrical installation.

⚡ A 240 km round trip for one happy customer!

Most of our work keeps us busy around Hamilton and the Waikato, but today we hit the road for Auckland to help out one of our long-time customers with some electrical work.

Job done, customer happy, and before heading back south we couldn't resist grabbing a quick photo of the Sky Tower. 🏙️

It was a full day's work, and a late drive home, but looking after our customers is always worth it.

Now it's back to Hamilton and ready for another busy week! ⚡

Check out the upgraded lighting in this Hamilton garage by replacing two older 1500mm batten lights with modern LED battens.

While lighting upgrades might seem simple, they can make a huge difference to how a space feels and functions. Whether you're parking the car, working on a project, or looking for tools, good lighting makes every task easier.

Why upgrade to modern LED battens? 👇

⚡ Brighter, more even light output
⚡ Lower energy consumption
⚡ Longer lifespan than older fittings
⚡ Reduced maintenance and lamp replacements
⚡ Clean, modern appearance

The result is a brighter, more usable garage with efficient lighting that's built to last.

⚡ Hot water upgrades are getting smarter 🚿

We recently helped a customer make the switch from a gas califont to a modern external hot water cylinder setup.

For this install, we ran a brand-new dedicated circuit directly from the switchboard through to a local isolation switch before connecting the new hot water system safely and compliantly.

Why are more homeowners making the change to heat pump hot water systems? 👇

💧 Extremely energy efficient compared to traditional electric cylinders
💧 Reliable hot water for busy households
💧 Quieter and more compact than older systems
💧 Designed to handle New Zealand conditions year-round
💧 Great option for homes looking to modernise their hot water setup

Dedicated circuits are important for appliances like these because they ensure the system has the correct protection, isolation, and power supply to operate safely and reliably.
