Back Country | A rural retreat.

We installed solid bandsawn macrocarpa through the living, kitchen and upstairs spaces. The bandsawn texture keeps the saw marks and knots on show, giving the floor a natural, rugged character that sits well with the timber-lined ceilings and native views.

We finished it in White Osmo to keep the macrocarpa light in tone, so the interior stays bright and opens out naturally to the deck.

How do you keep a timber floor looking pristine?

Every finish is different, but a few simple habits make a big difference. Vacuum or sweep regularly with a soft brush, lightly mop with a microfibre mop and a cleaner suitable for your floor's specific finish, and wipe up spills straight away.

We recommend avoiding steam mops, harsh chemicals and homemade cleaning solutions like vinegar. Felt pads beneath your furniture and quality entrance mats will help protect your floor for years to come.

The wait is over and our Devonport heritage project with Coast & Country is now complete.

We preserved the home's original timber flooring and matched it with custom engineered European oak, laid in plank and site-made herringbone. The floors were then sanded back, custom stained and coated to complement the original staircase and timber details.

Alan will be taking us through the finished home soon, so keep an eye out for it!
