In Between the Lines — Finalist, Bathroom Category, HOME of Architecture Interior of the Year Awards 2026 HOME
I’m delighted to share that In Between the Lines has been selected as a finalist in the Bathroom category of the HOME of Architecture Interior of the Year Awards 2026 — my second finalist project in this year’s awards.
Designed as part of a new home in Te Arai, this bathroom explores the interplay of light, texture and material. A hand-finished plaster wall catches and softens the changing light throughout the day, while sculptural wall lights create a gentle glow against the textured surface after dark. Rich chocolate-coloured tapware, layered natural materials and carefully considered detailing bring warmth and depth to the space, balancing the strong architectural forms beyond.
A special thank you to my wonderful clients. 14 years ago, I worked with them on their previous home, and it has been incredibly rewarding to collaborate with them again on this next chapter. Being invited back by repeat clients after so many years is one of the greatest compliments a designer can receive.
Public voting is now open. Follow the link in my bio or in the comments to view the finalists, see more images and cast your vote. If you missed yesterday’s post, you may also spot my finalist kitchen project, The Tea House, in the Kitchen category.
