One of Steve’s winter projects was to re-install our leadlight glass. They’ve been in our houses in temporary frames for two decades and I’m so glad to get them out of storage!

Looks like the rabbits had frozen vege for dinner! Frosts are great for killing bugs, reducing the botrytis in our soil, helping peonies flower, and apricots to set fruit. And a sunny day!

Sort of sums up the winter here so far. 😄

I was in London last week - just few days too early! Definitely on my barrow list. (Too big for a bucket)

School haircuts. Last day of the holidays so I couldn’t help myself. I’m sure my kids have PTSD seeing this chop-job!

Our flock has expanded and I don’t know what to do. Does anyone want golden pheasant bantams? They’re known for their temperament, pretty chatter and their pheasant feathers are used for making fishing lures. Ours are used to people and a having a nice coop at night. Cockerels are free, but if you want a hen they come as a pair for $50. The 5 little roos will probably look like the glorious golden Lefty (Dad) but currently they’re three blackish, one mixed and one mostly golden. They are a tiny breed so need a careful home. It goes without saying they would be useless for eating so don’t annoy me by asking if that’s an option, Lefty is only 500g of feathers and sharp bits. Mum is the whiter one in the centre and came from Tauranga. Lefty was one of the eggs I bought and incubated so not related.
