‎But there's a professional name for it which this break down will help.

‎POINTING:
‎pointing is the process of filling and finishing the joints between masonry units, such as bricks or stones, with mortar to provide protection from water and weathering and to improve the wall's aesthetic appeal.
‎
‎COPING:
‎coping is the protective cap or covering placed on the top of a wall, parapet, or other architectural structure to protect it from water damage

THROATS
