*A 6-Meter Road, 15 Slow Seconds, and a Heartbreaking Reality!*
Earlier today being Saturday 25th July 2026, I wrapped up a 2-hours strategy session with my core team at Novar Star Global Limited Company. We dissected a recent partnership that didn’t pan out, realigned our focus, and doubled down on our mission: to become Nigeria’s—and Africa’s—most trusted manufacturer of smart, reliable and energy-efficient gadgets, devices and work machines.
But that’s not what I want to talk about today.
Instead, I shared two personal stories with my team to remind us of why we started this journey.
Story 1: The Elderly Woman with Crutches
This last Tuesday, at around 5:40 PM, I saw an elderly woman—likely in her 60s or 70s—struggling to cross a busy street near my neighborhood. She had two crutches and had clearly been waiting for over 5 minutes. Cars, bikes, and keke napep zoomed past without a second glance.
I stepped in, flagged down the traffic, and helped her cross. The road was barely 6 meters wide, yet it took her over 15 seconds to make it across. The impatience on motorists’ faces was palpable.
When she finally got to the other side, she turned, smiled, and said: “Thank you my son, God bless you.”
That moment brought me joy—but also deep sadness.
As I walked home, I couldn’t stop thinking: How do the elderly and disabled in this country get by every day?
I looked up motorized wheelchairs online. Prices ranged from ₦980,000 to ₦2.45 million—all imported from China, Turkey, or India. How many Nigerian families can afford that?
We have brilliant engineers in this country. Yet we rely on others to solve our own problems.
At NOVAR STAR GLOBAL LIMITED, we are designing and building real life problems solutions.
