From Render to Reality: The Skeleton of Roots & Mortar 📐➡️🏗️

While the 3D renders show the sleek modern look, featuring grand curtain wall glass, warm wood accents, and textured brickwork, The site photos show the real work: getting the structure right.

Before a single bucket of concrete is poured for a suspended first floor, several critical checks must happen:

1️⃣ Formwork Levelling: The timber decking must be perfectly level and properly propped from below to prevent sagging when the heavy wet concrete hits.

2️⃣ Rebar Cover: Concrete cover blocks must be used so steel doesn't sit flush against the timber. Steel needs to be completely encased in concrete to prevent moisture from reaching it and causing rust (which leads to spalling and concrete failure).

3️⃣ Beam Placement: Main reinforcement cages are positioned over supporting walls and columns to form a rigid structural grid.

Good design isn't just about making a building look good, it’s about making sure it stands strong for decades.
