"Our core objective as Environmental Public Health Practitioners is saving lives."
As Environmental Health Practitioners, particularly those of us working in the Public Health Pest and Vector Control subsector, our mission extends far beyond the control and elimination of pests and vermin.
We are part of something much greater than ourselves—we are on the frontline of global disease prevention, environmental protection, and public health promotion.
As we commemorate and , I salute every Environmental Health Professional, Pest Management Practitioner, Vector Control Officer, Researcher, Regulator, and First Responder whose daily efforts contribute to healthier communities and safer environments.
This is also a call to governments, institutions, and individuals to continue prioritizing environmental health, integrated pest management, and sustainable practices as essential pillars of public health.
I warmly invite professionals, stakeholders, policymakers, researchers, manufacturers, and industry leaders to join us at the Global Pest Management Conference 2026, taking place on the 23rd & 24th July at the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
Be part of this unique global gathering as we collaborate, share knowledge, and develop innovative solutions for agriculture, food safety, public health, and environmental sustainability across Africa.
