Water can be silly.
pressure test your work.

I read a comment where someone said" you don't need pressure testing if you're very sure about your work."
He might be right however because of one silly characteristic of water , it can perpenrate the tiniest space you can ever think of... I have witnessed this several times.

Carrying out all the necessary majors in order to avoid leaks or breaking of tilles to trace leakages is what makes a person pro.

Plumbing artisans in this field should stop thinking pressure testing is for less people or for someone who doesn't know his oins in a particular job.
Some even get angry when you tell them to test their work.
It's something everyone has to do to avoid damages which can cause additional cost to the client.
Another factor I have witnessed here which can cause your work to leak is tillers when tilling the wall.
Some of them use nails when taking their tilling garage, thereby nailing pipes on the toilet wall without notice.

Here, we're using a 6 inch pipe because it's a residential building... It requires careful planning to prevent flooding, contamination, and costly structural damage. Key considerations include proper pipe gradients, burial depths, and clear access points

:1. Drainage and Sewerage SystemsGravity and Slope: External drain lines must rely on gravity. Ensure a minimum slope (typically 1% to 2%, or 1 m in 100 m) to allow wastewater to flow continuously and prevent solids from settling.

2. Cleanouts and Access: Install inspection chambers or cleanout points at strategic intervals, changes in direction, and junctions so blockages can be easily cleared without tearing up paving.

3. Separation of Lines: Separate your blackwater (sewage from toilets) and greywater (showers and sinks) if you plan to implement a greywater recycling or garden irrigation system.Backwater Prevention: Install a backwater valve on the main sewer line to prevent municipal sewer backups from entering your home

4. Water Supply LinesBurial Depth: Bury external water supply pipes sufficiently deep to protect them from physical damage (especially in traffic areas like driveways) and temperature fluctuations.

5.Material Selection: Choose materials that can withstand local soil conditions and water pressure, such as corrosion-resistant PEX, UPVC

Real estate developers are already the problem we have in the construction field.
I remember my days as a plumbing Apprentice back then, my Boss used to tell us some of his early days experiences as a young plumber.

Plumbing used to be a highly respected big contracting job when you finally land yourself one among site workers and even engineers. you're likely making it big as a contractor especially jobs coming directy from the owner, no middle man, no developer.

Reverse is the case nowadays, developers have made it extremely difficult for most skilled workers, you're only negotiating labour and sometimes not because there's much profits but to keep client relationships and also see something to feed home.
This is one of the reasons why real estate/rent is increasingly high especially in Lagos State.

Although the cost of building has also made everything costly and because some people can't deliver to satisfaction as some run aways once money hit their account, making some developer to loss trust and instead prefer going to the market themselves..

Demonstration of how PPR pipes are joined using PPR machines A little force is needed to avoid pipe leakages; you also have to be very careful to avoid blocking the pipeline while joining.
It doesn't require the use of glue like other PVC pipes.
Most construction sites 🏗️ choose to use this pipe because of its durability💯. It is suitable for both hot and cold water lines.

Today, I had the privilege of working with one of Boss on site. This is a 10 storey project and
Specifically we're on the 4th floor.

In the plumbing phase, this is 'lay before casting' stage, which involves installing pipes according to the design specifications prior to casting.
As a technician, familiarity with drawing details is essential before commencing work on a site of this nature.

Although challenging, I had to force myself to recognize the importance of mastering this aspect, particularly with regard to sloping, which demands attention to details to prevent leaks during operation.

When I started plumbing fully, I had a boss who intentionally call me because of my willingness and tough resistance to work.
I will always try to give my best not because I wanted to prove a point but because I have a passion going into plumbing.
It wasn't really about the pay however the zeal to get something doing where I won't be sacked at will.

Why am I saying this?

This picture reminds me one of the critical jobs I have done so far...
chiseling is part of plumbing which is inevitable, it requires a lot of energy 💪 for one to break certain walls. The labourer I brought to help me chisel couldn't even do much before he Left. "He said, Oga, this wall too strong and I no fit do this one".😂😂

Your training as a craftsman who wants to do excellently well in this field is your ability to chisel through concrete wall to fit in your pipes as the case may be.

Chiseling concrete involves removing small, incremental chunks using a cold chisel or rotary hammer to reshape, demolish, or repair surfaces, often requiring safety gear (goggles, gloves) and a steady, low-angle approach.

For best results, work in thin layers to avoid excessive damage, and use power tools like a rotary hammer with SDS chisel bits for larger jobs.

Key Techniques and Tools
Manual Method: Uses a cold chisel or masonry chisel and a hammer for small, precise, or detailed tasks.
Power Method: Utilizes a rotary hammer or jackhammer for heavy-duty breaking and rapid removal.
Process: Start by marking the area, make small cuts, and chip away material gradually, keeping the tool at a low angle to the surface.
Preparation: To avoid over-cracking, it is helpful to first score the concrete with a grinder using a diamond blade.
