The strongest foundations are built quietly, through guidance, patience, and steady support.

Today we honour the fathers and father figures who shape lives, nurture ambition, and leave their mark well beyond the spaces they occupy.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at James Cubitt Interiors.

Today, we celebrate the strength of our people, the resilience of our nation, and the shared hope that binds us together.

As we reflect on our journey, may we continue to build a Nigeria where unity, progress, and opportunity thrive for all.

Here's to a stronger, better, and more united Nigeria.

Leadership is rarely tested when things go according to plan. It’s tested in moments of pressure, uncertainty, and consequence.

“A superbike teaches you respect for power. Architecture teaches you respect for stability. Business teaches you respect for consequences.”

This insightful piece explores the parallels between architecture, business, and superbike riding and how each discipline shapes the mindset required to lead through complexity.

From planning for friction to understanding the weight of decisions, the article reflects on leadership beyond theory and through lived experience.

Recently, Our MD spoke alongside fellow architects, designers, and industry leaders at the Lagos Architects Forum on the theme: “Lagos Architecture, The Movie.”

Her presentation explored Lagos as more than a city, but as a living, evolving system shaped by movement, behaviour, culture, and everyday human interaction.

Using observations from streets, airports, events, and public spaces, she reflected on how people naturally adapt and redefine environments beyond their intended function.

Some key reflections from the session:

• Great spaces are not only designed, they are understood through behaviour.

• People will always reveal the most intuitive way to use a space.

• Infrastructure without human-centred thinking creates friction.

• Culture, movement, and interaction must be considered as part of the design process.

• The future of African cities depends on spaces that support wellbeing, connection, and adaptability.

At James Cubitt Interiors, we believe meaningful design begins with observing how people live, move, gather, and experience space every day.

Sometimes workplace performance issues are not people issues.

When the layout fights the workflow, when there’s nowhere to take calls, when noise travels too easily, or when circulation is chaotic; work becomes harder than it needs to be.

A well-designed workplace supports people quietly: clearer zones, better meeting room mix, improved sound control, and spaces that fit the culture of the organisation.

If you could change one thing in your workplace tomorrow, what would it be?
