BEFORE YOU BUY THAT SOLAR GENERATOR, ASK THESE 3 QUESTIONS
The solar generator market in Nigeria is growing really fast. Today, you’ll find different brands, different capacities, and different prices — from very cheap options to very expensive ones.
But honestly, price shouldn’t be the first thing you look at.
Before you settle for a particular solar generator, take a moment to ask these three important questions:
1. What type of lithium battery cells does it use?
The battery is one of the most important parts of a solar generator. Ask what type of cells are inside and don't just assume that every lithium battery is the same.
2. What is the inverter's surge wattage?
Don't look only at the advertised output. Some appliances, especially refrigerators, freezers, water pumps and power tools, need extra power when starting. Make sure the inverter can handle that initial surge.
3. How many years of warranty do I get?
This is something many people overlook. A good warranty gives you some peace of mind and tells you that the manufacturer is willing to stand behind the product.
At the end of the day, don't buy a solar generator simply because it is cheap or because someone recommended it to you.
Ask questions. Check the specifications. Understand what you're buying.
Because when it comes to solar generators, the cheapest option may not always be the best value, and the most expensive one isn't automatically the best either.
Buy based on quality, performance, reliability and suitability for your needs — not just price.
